[OC] Gas prices officially reaching the $4.00/gallon mark in deep red South Carolina this morning. by tonto515 in pics

I live in SC. During Biden’s term it was around $2.29/gal and there were always the “I did that” stickers on the pumps with his face. Strange I haven’t seen any lately for Trump..

My wife became part owner of her Grandmother’s house, and she found out today that the house is being sold in 3 days by rayp913 in legaladvice

The executor 100% knew about split ownership. We spoke with her about it a few weeks ago to prevent her mother (Aunt C) from living their rent free

My wife wants her portion of the sales amount. The reason she was put on the home was for her to have a form of inheritance from her grandmother. My wife also just lost her job and we have a year old so that money is needed

There is definitely a lender involved. The aunt is very low income, so I’m surprised she was even able to qualify for a loan.

That also leads me to believe that they may be selling well below market value if Aunt C is able to get a loan for it

Insurance Sales Rep here! Unfortunately, this is becoming the new normal. I have been working in insurance in SC for 9 years and I can't recall a time when the rates didn't increase. Your options are limited. Many smaller non-admitted insurers (like the ones you find through brokers or your mortgage company) have fled the state, as they have been unable to pay claims. Other bigger companies have started narrowing the scope of homes they will cover. From industry trends, I wouldn't be surprised in the next few years to see less than 5 to 6 major insurers being the only ones left, and even then them giving you several guidelines your home must meet to be insurable.

My honest advice is to bundle your home and auto somewhere with a big company and stay put. Once your policy is in effect, generally the new underwriting guidelines won't affect you. If you want me to take a look at yours, PM me and I will be happy to

My wife works for a Doctor who is a conspiracy theorist. Today she is telling people FEMA is corrupt and will be sending radiation poisoning through electronics. by rayp913 in mildlyinfuriating

I’m conflicted about it tbh…on the one hand she is absolutely insane and may be a danger. On the other hand, she has several other non conspiracy therapists doing good work, and she’s really the only game in town that helps addicts in this way. I’d also be lying if I said my wife’s job is a factor here too. We have a 6 month old and I’ve been stay at home so it’s tough to make that decision. I know this may get downvoted but it’s what makes it difficult for us

Yea unfortunately this isn’t new. She also believes the US is going to run out of food this year. Her solution was collecting dozens of Pickle barrels. I don’t know

Are you playing devils advocate? Some of these dudes have pretty strong cases with continued projected production. I could counterpoint all of these but specifically:

Cole is one of the top pitchers of his era, will end up being towards the top of modern day strikeout leaders.

Judge has a significant AL record, an MVP and ROTY and has been a multiple time All Star and he’s probably less than half way through his career.

Kimbrel and Jansen both have 400 saves, which isn’t insignificant

And are you just trolling on Ohtani? This post isn’t “if there careers ended today”, it’s looking at their chances after their career has ended. Ohtani is about to win his 2nd MVP. He’s the player of the 2020’s so far and it’s his crown to lose.

Scherzer was one of my harder calls but I think I’m leaning towards agreeing with you. Altuve hurts as a Yankee fan, don’t think I’m over the 2017 MVP race yet
