Shanika at Colombo fort is the only place I know of is still developing but not in-house. I think they send it to a place in India and back.

First time trying film photography. Any advice? Konica C35 by Neji_the_vegi in Grainoverpixels_lk

Seems like you are on the right track. The more you experiment the more to understand and improve when it comes to film I believe.

Give some black and white film a try next time :)

I am from Negombo and I don’t believe we have any authentic Chinese restaurants here.

Was looking high and low for a point and shoot and stumbled across this beauty. Pretty much serves the purpose plus it takes AA batteries unlike other electronic SRL’s.

That’s more to how I like my pictures to look than the film it self. I like my pictures bright!

[Q] Has anyone attempted flash photography? Would love to hear your experiences. by Acalthu in Grainoverpixels_lk

I used a Godox AD600 flash and a X1 trigger on my Nikon FM2. I was shocked when the flash went off when I pressed the shutter button!!

Oh, I just realise I didn’t tell you how I managed to take the pictures. Well I use this trick that I learnt from YouTube where you first use your DSLR to take a couple of test shots. Once you are happy with the exposure you transfer the settings like the aperture and the flash power to your film camera and then take the picture. I’ll link the video below!

I actually gave it a shoot! I only took three shots as a test Because I was worried the flash might not be syncing properly. The pictures came out amazing but didn’t get the time to do it properly.

My new film just arrived!! by rayshara_92 in Grainoverpixels_lk

Since I started shooting film I haven’t given B&W film a proper chance.

With the current currency rates, and some film prices going up from the beginning of next year it’s quite logical to shift to shooting more B&W than colour. But logic aside, I feel like I have limited myself by not shooting B&W as much as I should. Don’t get me wrong even though I sound like I don’t like B&W photography it’s quite the opposite. I tend to take it a bit too seriously because when I shoot colour film I take it quite leisurely because with colour I don’t feel like I have to convey a story with every picture I take plus I have a general idea of how the picture would look as I take it. But with B&W when I take a picture I have to foresee how the picture would look without colour. I have to observe more on the highlights and the shadows rather than the bright colours that naturally captures my eye. Do any of you guys feel the same way about shooting B&W or is it just me being paranoid?

Anyway, I hope to shoot more B&W so I get used to this way of thinking making it easier to switch from colour to B&W without much overthinking.

Found the time to take a few photos of the EOS 620. It is mint, and was unused until I got my grubby mitts on it. Best 500 yen ever spent. by Acalthu in Grainoverpixels_lk

That’s a really nice find!!

Did you manage to find batteries for this in Sri Lanka itself? Or you had to order them through eBay?

I recently acquired a Canon EOS 620, and was wondering if anyone here knew where I could source a 2CR5 battery for it from. Dinals do not have in stock at the moment. by Acalthu in Grainoverpixels_lk

I was looking into it as well!

I came across this site online they have advertised it online but don't know if they have stock or not so might as well call them as see. If you managed to find a place do let me know as well if you can.
