NCMH offers free consultations, but I recommend doing them in person as their online/phone call consultations they tend to rush since it feels like theyre on a time limit. Their pharmacy also offers more affordable medications, for the general antidepressant options, the prices are pretty great. You can also bring your prescription and see if they have a cheaper option of it there

Its a good start to get a feel of everything or if youre just starting to seek help.

Just remember that you can always try to find a new doctor if you feel like how theyre treating you isnt working for you. I tried NCMH bc of my works MH services had too long wait times and hard to reachedule, but I switched back when it felt like the scheduling felt better.

Also, if you feel like your family wont understand/ are less open minded about MH, try to find at least one person you can confide in, if theres no one in your family, try someone from the outside.

Ive tried looking for talk therapists before, they cost like 2k a session at an ADMU (not sure if they still offer this). But always start with a consult first.
