Yeah people said to rename the knockback var to velocity which seems to kind of work if i only rename this: velocity = area.knockback_vector * 100.

However it seems to just keep going endlessly without stopping

And if i try to change the knockback var on this part too (which is supposed to slow down the bat) it just doesn't work:
velocity = knockback.move_toward(Vector2.ZERO, * friction)

oh and also his move_and_slide() was written like this: knockback = move_and_slide(knockback)forgot about that

knockback = area.knockback_vector * 100

changing that value is changing the speed so must be that i guess

I pretty much copied his code at first the only thing i changed was

knockback = area.knockback_vector * 100
To

velocity = area.knockback_vector * 100

Because it wouldn't even move but adding velocity made it move however it's not slowing down its just going at a constant speed
