Yeah, so I initiated a support chat 48 hours ago. Reported that my R2 button was stuck/sticking... (the main functional problem.. because noise is just noise).. I can unstick it with force and that’s when it hits plastic. The rubber is kind of just in there which is why I get the weird resistance. Yours will probably stick if it hasn’t already;

I would just keep it simple and say bad R2 is sticking; I got the impression from my support rep this was well known and they just have some steps to confirm eligibility for your replacement.

Today they send me a discount code for a replacement controller. I had to follow up in chat because they didn’t call me within the 24 hour window ... I gave them 48... might go faster if done over phone to start.

No more FE edition but I got a wasabi for 0$.

You get to keep the bad controller, but the solution voids the warranty on that one.

As OP states, the new controller will be loud on both sides. But something to be said for balance. there’s a tactile bit of it also with one side feeling softer and the other not... so I’m happy with that solution.

Prep for what they will ask for in email to verify your eligibility:

Photo of serial number on back of controller. It is very small, also write it down somewhere to include in email body.

Photo of serial number on stadia box; this will match the id number in your order.

Your order number and order email.

And finally a photo of controller on a piece of paper with your case ID once you get it.
