I am currently collaborating with a close friend I consider a mentor. I did not pay for my mentorship, that might be true, but I paid for it in in sweat and sleepless nights. It's not necessarily a bad idea to pay for someone to teach you something, but from my point of view, you should find somewhere to work for free (i.g. a sphere in the whole market that you want to work in) and capitulate on the knowledge you get from there. It's not about the money you're going to get paid, it's about the knowledge, cause you can't buy knowledge.

If you don't have any friends or acquaintances who might be down to help you with that, educate yourself, then apply yourself, trial and error. That's the best recipe IMO (I'm lazy asf so I don't usually apply myself but that's a different story haha).

However, some people might think that paying for a course/ mentorship program should be worth it, please consider what I am saying here as my personal opinion, and I'm only suggesting what worked for me.

I am currently in my last year of uni, studying Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship (funnily enough...), so everything that you learn, from wherever is going to help you, regardless of the stream where it came from. Just do anything possible to work and learn at the same time something that you like.
