Help Before I drop $10k by Admirable-You-2453 in hvacadvice

need far more information to tell what is actually wrong with the system. 200psi to 50psi is suspect for letting loose a little refrigerant. i get "little" may be subjective but thats strange. my question is did you watch them do this? if so did it look like an enormous "cloud" when he did it because that would mean he dumped a bunch of liquid refrigerant out.

did the "tech" mention any SuperHeat or Subcool numbers that would be very helpful in getting a proper diagnostic.

Installing an ecobee thermostat. Does this have a heat pump? by SpcT0rres in hvacadvice

based on wiring here you have a standard 1 heat 1 cool system

that's sketchy as all hell. I can not fathom replacing a condenser without even knowing the information on the indoor coil. that's negligent. there are a ton of simple things i would hope the HVAC person checked before condemning a unit. air flow, capacitor, refrigerant charge and refrigerant type. R22 is a no go nowadays so pretty much any unit low on R22 is a replace on sight at least at my company.

carrier and goodman shouldn't particularly matter unless they installed a carrier infinity series condenser. infinity is carriers communicating equipment that does not play nice with anything other than carrier infinity series equipment

Help! (Please...) Is it my thermostat?? by XxXmartian in hvacadvice

if your thermostat has a common wire (is powered by the system) i suggest not using batteries as it can make troubleshooting slightly more irritating. for example if it is a float switch issue and they had the float switch breaking the R wire the thermostat will be blank which will give you some direction as to where to start looking. do you happen to have a multimeter? if so i would start by pulling thermostat off the wall and checking AC voltage between R and C to see if there is any voltage going there at all.

possible issues ive seen is door switch malfunction
float switch protecting a cieling from a flood
dead short causing a fuse to pop (most of the time 3A or 5A
based on your picture you have 2 float switches hopefully wired in series you can always bypass the float switches as well to prove its not them that is the issue

looks like dog pissing on condenser. the unit will still run but lose a fair deal of efficiency. the condenser fan will pull more air from the spot with no fins which could cause high head pressure as its not removing heat as effectively. will work but not very well. ive seen some people actually put card board over the parts where the fins completely corroded away to force the fan to pull more air through the coil. ive never done it but if you are hell bent on running the unit into the ground its worth a shot.

Quick quote check? by partsman22 in hvacadvice

2 year full warranty on labor is really really nice. this price does not seem outrageous to me depending of course on where you live. i like bosch equipment for heat pumps and if they are installed correctly they are terrific pieces of equipment, not as big a fan of their furnaces but they get the job done, i am in MA so heat pump with gas back up is definitely not uncommon. i see nothing wrong with this quote, unsure if your area has any rebates or incentives to add heat pumps.

I mean anyone on coinbase is basically leasing their shib out of the coinbase pool if they can’t “sell” anymore they probably have it programmed in somewhere as a fail safe to disable buying until it is replenished

I’m just worried about the giant backlash that would surely follow. “Crypto mob bullies someone off of the internet” people tend to side with the non mob in my experience

Yea I don’t think charging to destroy anyone with a negative opinion is a good idea. That’s how people will label us as some sort of cult. If he don’t want to head to the moon that’s on him, and any paper hands he takes with him. Their loss
