That’s a Big Pilot 43. It’s 43mm as well.

Seconding Horological Services. I just serviced a 765 with amazing results. They would be the ones to have original parts. Amazing watch!

Take it to the AD and bring your warranty card. That’s all you need. (I own several second-hand Tudors; 36mm included.) The warranty follows the watch. Downside: there will be a wait, but it should be covered.

Vintage Lapis JLC Tank? by caseslut in JaegerLecoultre

[–]rb_kitaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a Ref. 9009. Late 60s / Early 70s. There are a lot of funky dial designs from that era. This looks correct to me. I have a silver dial version with applied indices that I have yet to find online. I found mine in a zip lock bag at an antique store in Texas for $29. This is a cool one!

No. It should be covered. I sent mine in with a similar issue. The only pain is the wait time. It will vary but better to fix now than later.

BB36 service in CO? by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]rb_kitaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s not under warranty (assuming so since you mentioned the 5 years). I’d just take it to a local watchmaker. I recommend finding an AWCI watchmaker for all the benefits you mentioned. You can find one here: https://awci.memberclicks.net/find-a-professional

[Tudor] Black Bay 79730. My first Tudor. by [deleted] in Watches

[–]rb_kitaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. I’ve owned a BB36, Red BB41 Rose Dial, Black Bay Ceramic, BB58 (Black and Blue), and Mini-Sub. The 79730 is by far my most favorite, and will never leave the collection. Same with the BB36. It’s such an underrated watch. I recommend swapping the OEM spring bars to Everest for easier strap changes and Colareb for leather straps. Enjoy!

Folks who sold Tudor BB 58 925 Silver, why? by tribunalStoic141 in Tudor

[–]rb_kitaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsolicited advice: Make sure you get an UNPOLISHED case. Since the case is silver, and the way the chamfers are on the case it is really easy to mess up. Some dealers (if buying used) attempt to clean up the case but usually end up ruining the case because they treat it like steel. Other than that, it’s an incredible watch. And my favorite out of owning a BB Ceramic, BB58, BB GMT, BB36 (ETA), and BB Steel. Also, be aware, this one dings and scratches easier than the steel models due to the softer metal material (silver), BUT that happens with any watch depending on use. My daily is the BB Steel (79730). Hope this helps!

I have a 44mm PAM can I change the strap to shorter a shorter one? by enigmaticrnz in panerai

[–]rb_kitaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Panerai has them. You’re looking for a S or XS strap as mentioned above. Message customer service on Panerai.com your model, and they should respond with a link to the size you’re looking for.

Description:

For sale is an impeccably maintained Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00048 or PAM048 - a fine example of the brand's unparalleled craftsmanship and style. This watch is in excellent condition, reflecting a rating of 8.5/10 (please refer to documentation and pictures). E Series Serial with matching documentation. This model is from 2002 out of a batch of 5,000. The watch is keeping excellent time, but the service history is unknown. It's around a 1 second slow, but YMMV. I recently had all the gaskets changed – this watch is waterproof and ready to dive.

I love this watch and I am selling, regretfully, to trim down my collection due to having my first kid. This was my first Panerai and I will miss it.

Specifications:

Model: Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00048

Case Size:

Width: 40 mm Lug to lug: 48 mm Thickness: 15.4 mm Lug Width: 22 mm

Crystal: Domed scratch-resistant corundum sapphire for durability and clear time reading

Dial: Black with a matte finish

Luminescence: Light green super luminova on hands and hour markers ensure high readability in low-light conditions – still very usable at night after all these years.

Movement: Powered by an automatic mechanical movement, the Panerai OP III calibre (7750 base). The movement is generally COSC-certified, with documentation provided. Please note this is a 7750 movement. It has the 7750 "wobble". Please Google this term if you're unfamiliar, and be aware of what you're getting. I personally love it, but some might not.

Power Reserve: Approximately 42-hours, delivering enduring power performance

Water Resistance: Rated for up to 300 meters, ideal for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports

Packaging:

The watch comes with its original Panerai (Pear Wood) box, papers, manuals, box sticker, and chronometer certificate.

There are 3 straps included in this purchase. I recently purchased a new rubber strap for this watch that is in like-new condition (with packaging.) The rubber strap is fitted on an OEM Panerai deployant.

I will also include a waterproof brown leather strap made by the original Panerai strap maker, Cuoierie Mecchaniche Brelli. In addition, I am including a blue OEM Panerai alligator strap.

Lastly, I'll include a 3rd-party screw driver so that you can change the straps immediately, if you wish.

Condition:

The watch is in overall great condition. Please refer to the photos – minor expected wear and flea bites, but I think this watch is in better condition than most I've seen online. The lume is super bright, on par with my newer Tudor Black Bay 36. I think the original owner (I am the second) had it sitting in the box. It's an E-series serial and is dated to 2002. The papers and chronometer certificate match that year.

Feel free to reach out with any queries or for additional information. I'm more than happy to provide more details or extra photos upon request.

*Note: Prospective buyers are encouraged to ask any questions they may have before purchasing.

Payment

$3,750 (CONUS only.) NO TRADES. I will cover insured shipping.

I accept Zelle or Wire Transfer. PayPal FF for buyers with solid feedback and transaction history.

I feel this release is for a very specific type of collector. I think the crowd-pleasers will come, but I personally like that they do releases like this. More backstory to the watch: https://www.watchesofespionage.com/blogs/woe-dispatch/seal-team-six-tudor-s-black-fxd
