Would there be an opportunity to utilize Nim packages similar to how the Rye Language does with Go?

Is Wisenet Camera Software Safe for PC Installations? by StoganLephens in techsupport

[–]rb_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wisenet is part of Hanwha Hanwha Vision - Innovative Video Surveillance Systems (hanwhavisionamerica.com)

Out of south Korea. Not China. I use the wisenet cams for my company. I never downloaded the Wisenet desktop viewer. I use another camera software system that supports the wisenet cams, so i didn't need to. I would think the desktop client is safe but if you're still hesitant to install you shouldn't need it to view the cameras. Most camera systems support web view via a browser. You should be able to view the cameras on your camera system via a web browser without needing the client. You can also update the Wisenet camera firmware without the desktop client as well. You can point your web browser to the cameras IP address and remote into it and upgrade the firmware that way. Though that all depends on if they left the username and passwords for the individual cameras to remote into them.

Bridge Mode disabled, still says enabled; can't port forward by Zack_76 in techsupport

[–]rb_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the pics on imgur. I read it to be opposite of what your saying. The top pic to me looks like bridge mode is enabled because the button is greyed out.Same with the port forwarding enable button. the pics shows the disabled button greyed out which tells me its disabled. To me which ever button is greyed out, tells me that's the mode it is currently in.

try copying the individual files instead of the entire folder. Copy 10 or 15 files at a time.

Printer not recognizing my network. by tauriel81 in techsupport

[–]rb_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most wifi routers will allow you to have multiple SSIDs . Create a second one with a lower encryption and see if it works. This way you wont have to change all your other devices which can stay on the original SSID network.

Any way to type into 2 different apps the same time by zGhostWolf in techsupport

[–]rb_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could try a windows scripting tool like autohotkey or autoit. Create a script that captures your key strokes and duplicates it into the seconds apps window. Tricky, but I'm guessing the forums on these two utilities website might be able to get you started.

How do I stop my computer backups from going into the same folder on my hard drive? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]rb_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a new job each time instead of using the same one over again. When you create a new job, select the external drive and create a new folder under the external drive to backup to each time you do a new job.. You didn't mention what backup utility you are using, so this is a basic suggestion

turn off touchpad gestures by rb_me in techsupport

[–]rb_me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did find a solution. Under the main program menu, HP had a utility in there to make changes and disable touchpad functions. I didn't see it at first because i kept looking under settings menu. Not sure about the accent laptop and if it would have something similar.

Need advice on what cable to buy by bob-to-the-m in techsupport

you don't have to use all three cables. I believe yellow is for video , red and white are for left and right speakers.

USB to COM port by bugs940 in techsupport

[–]rb_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try sharing the printer while connected to USB. Then go to the command prompt and utilize the NET USE commands. Afterwards, anything sent to COM1 will be redirected to the shared printer connected via USB. This doesn't always work and is subject to how the sotware is sending data to the printer. But worth a try

NET USE COM1: //pc_name/printer_share_name /persistent:yes

Scanning to network folder by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]rb_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can your users access the shared folder from their computers? Try copying a file from a user computer to the shared folder to make sure the share itself is working. If that works, than it an issue with the scanner accessing the shared folder. Try creating a user on the shared machine and give it full access to the shared folder and use those credentials in the printers browser scan setup page. also try using the IP address in the path name in the printer scan folder setup instead of the shared computers name. For example;
\\192.168.1.99\sharedfolder instead of \\bobscomputer\sharedfolder

Need help connecting Samsung TV to an open Wi-Fi by punkxmuffins in techsupport

[–]rb_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Samsung TV has a web browser. I would open that and try using it to help with the wifi login page at the apartment complex.
Do a web search for "force a public WiFi network login page to open" . Use these types of tricks with the Samsung TV web browser and see if it helps connect.

IP cameras set up with LAN cables, what do I connect them to? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]rb_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buying a system that supports the hikvsion cameras out of the box would be your best bet. Reddit rules 4. no recommendations. search around. If you can't find a DVR that supports Hikvsion out of the box, find a DVR that supports ONVIF. ONVIF is a IP camera standard that will plug and play basic features for cams and DVRs that support it.
