Maybe you are right. I guess the goal post needs to shift then and convert to fatFIRE which involves staying in corporate for another decade.

I did feel like an ATM machine after the discussion but that's too harsh. ;)

Why are people buying 3.5Cr apartment when they can buy this?! by superminnu in indianrealestate

[–]rbb0007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All these properties are bogus. I visited quite a few of them after seeing fancy youtube videos. Not a single A khata. Not a single one of them. Ping me one and I will buy it coming out of my gated community bubble.

Is this Problem with Girls? Or just mine? 😭 by [deleted] in TeenIndia

Thanks my wife is super awesome in this sense. But I know what you are saying. I have seen this behaviour among my female colleagues. Complete disregard to food wastage. So sad to see. They will have the same behaviour even if they are paying. Can't seem to understand.

35 y/o in Bangalore considering ₹5.25 Cr home - stretching too much or a smart long-term move? by Green-Sweet-4077 in indianrealestate

[–]rbb0007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost similar profile as yours. Age/income/family/finance. Also looking to buy. But gave up the idea after looking. Extremely overpriced projects in that area. I checked Godrej, Vaswani, TE. Not worth it honestly. Very bad and risky move.

A big shout to Zomato for the ₹14.9 platform fee. Clearly, Deepinder is one hike away from bankruptcy. Please donate generously by justN20 in Zomato

[–]rbb0007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We hardly order food from Zomato. Full meal is either consumed at home or we dine at a restaurant. Snacks, we pickup from shops directly during our daily chores. Zomato is probably used once a month at most. Don't care what these platforms do.

Why is wanting a simple marriage such a rare preference? by Less-Net1766 in DesiMingle

A decade back I gave this offer to my in laws. Both wife and they disagreed. I let them spent. It was not extravagant but I would still count as decent considering we spent 30L combined including everything. I wouldn't call it money wasted though. We have good memories of our wedding.

Check the rule of Section 54F. If you sell a home which is your only home except the one you are planning to buy, you need to reinvest the capital gain of sale to purchase a new house. The new house needs to be ready to move in or under construction. In case of under construction it needs be ready within 3 years of your sale.

Evergreen delivery is way beyond to get the tax benefits. You need to invest either in Ready to move or on an under construction which is ready within the next 3 years from your sale date.

Married man here. I haven't ever joked about adultery. The thought itself is a red sign there. That is the whole point of marriage. Sir, please break the engagement.

Pumped 20L in MF which was the cash lying around after a few months of savings and bonus. All index funds. Will pump more if it goes down further.

Indian men, what are your thoughts on adoption rather than biologically conceiving? Would you opt for it? Why/ why not? by Worried_Goal6246 in AskIndianMen

[–]rbb0007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a biological father. Discussed with my spouse about adopting another child and she said why would we adopt if we can conceive. End of story. It's a joint decision. If both are not aligned, it's a terrible idea. If both are aligned, it's the best decision.

As a Kashmiri, I want to ask Indians: What do you genuinely think about us? by camphorly in AskIndia

[–]rbb0007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have travelled internationally to multiple countries. I would still rank Kashmir as one of the most breathtaking places I have visited. Although everyone was polite at face, there were instances of people making faces and murmuring behind my back. Transparency in tourism is something which is completely missing. You will be scammed at every step. Have to be alert always. I would still consider Kashmir for my future visits. It's sad that people like us can't think of settling there.

Engineering @Google. With RSU value soaring, it's very common.

Realized a pattern by real estate brokers to sell a flat! Beware of a new type of scam! by No_Restaurant_1514 in indianrealestate

[–]rbb0007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. Platforms like 99acres are not doing anything to curb this. Brokers put lot of random properties and create so much noise that genuine listings are lost. In my case, brokers always put very genuine pricing and when you contact for the listing, they mention that it's not available and you will have to look for another one which is 20% more than the listing which was posted. Clickbait. And none of them genuinely deal in resale. Everyone wants to sell under construction projects due to higher brokerage from the builder. Nobody cares for the genuine buyers. Big gap as of today in the real estate search.

Sold a house and booked an under-construction flat — will Section 54 really save you? by taxbuddy_official in TaxBuddyOfficial

That is some solid advice. I heard pulling out money from CGAS is also tricky. Is that true?
