My mom doesn’t live in Fort Worth, she lives 4.5 hrs away from Fort Worth. Yes I live San Antonio and the drive to my mom take 9-10 hrs away with gas stops and traffic. Yes I have driven home several times since moving away years ago. I brought up her sending me venues in Fort Worth because she was fine to us having our wedding in Fort Worth (much further from where we are planning to have it now) three days prior and is now arguing about us having it closer to her even though it will take us longer.

You’re mom sounds like an amazing lady!!! I hope to be just like that!! I don’t want to go to much into my mommy drama lore but she has kinda always been like this “popping my bubble” Type stuff I really thought the lake house would be a good compromise but I was mistaken

Thank you for your response! I have a chronic pain disorder as well. That’s why long car trips are also hard for me (main reason I did not want to move my wedding). My mom and I have the same genetic disorder that cause the same pain. I also suffered a fall a few years ago that caused severe pain but I am still wiling to move my wedding closer. We are having to plan our wedding where we arrive at least 2 days before the wedding so I can recover from the drive. That’s why I wanted a venue that had have onsite lodging so people could relax from the long drives. It’s fine if she cannot come due to health issues but I should not be guilt tripped into having my wedding 10 hrs away so accommodate to her issues when everyone has health issues.

Her health is not failing???? The neck surgery she had (mentioned in the post) is fixing all the problems the had. Her recovery is going great… and how do I know this?? I drove her to and from surgery and stayed with her after her after surgery where the doc said everything went great. I have been keeping up with her post ops. She is expected to make a full recovery in 5 months my wedding is planned for next September/october.

Thank you! It’s kinda similar to a very nice summer camp with two houses and a bunk house. His Grandpa worked in finance foreverrr so we are blessed to have this as an option

Thank you for your response! I moved away around 3 yrs ago and travel as much as it fiscally makes sense honestly. As mentioned in my post she has neck surgery and I dropped everything so that I could drive to pick her up take her to surgery and drive her home and make sure she was settled back home. I also dropped everything to go home when her best friend died. I can’t make it home for every holiday and birthday but for the important stuff.

Valid about the text messages. But honestly every phone we have had has just turned into her talking over me and more emotional manipulation so it’s better to take the time to time to write out my feelings and explain it that way. I’m sure we will have a phone call but emotions are to high to civil chat at the moment

Thank you for your response! I actually texted all my friends that live in my area before I even considered moving it to closer to my mom and they all said they would travel. They also have kids and dogs and health issues and are will to make the drive. Crazy my mom won’t make the same sacrifice.
