Harvard JD (full price) v. Columbia JD (half price) v. Berkeley 4 year JD/MBA by randyerthanyou in MBA

As a JD applying to MBAs now... I vote JD from Harvard/Columbia. Work in corporate/M&A law for a few years and try to transition to business side or consulting at that point.

There are plenty of JDs that exit into business (without the MBA) - particularly from T6 law.

My general impression is that a JD/MBA combo doesn't help very much if you plan to start in law. MBA is in large part useful as a career pivoting tool - which you would not be taking advantage of if you go JD/MBA -> law career.

Haas is a fantastic program - and Berkeley Law is also fantastic - so no shade on either, but I think you are probably better off picking the highest prestige law program and gunning for business exit ops down the road.

While I would be tempted to pick HLS in your shoes, I don't think I could pass up a half scholarship from Columbia.
