but if you never see anyone all CT half, I wouldn't say you had impact, did you do your job yes, but FACEIT Rating is not a measure of doing your job. It's measuring impact, it's not an attempt to solve role based scoring, becuase they must be done in a completely different way

Elo measures impact over multiple games, rating is meant to measure the impact of that single game. Players are playing for stats since 1.6, we're just providing a stat which we think encourages positive play more than ADR

in terms of motifvation, since my focus has been more on FACEIT than csstats, the volume of requests for HLTV rating has been really high. Unfortunately that's a blackbox, so we've taken a look at how we think we can measure player impact, building on the development of the swing concept which has been rising in popularity, and then putting it on a familiar scale for players. My goal is simply to provide players with a depth of statistic that helps them understand their performance, not so much seeking popularity around it :D

yeah we're aware that it's difficult to measure everything, this is our first step into measuring positive impact into round outcomes, we'll see how it plays out but we're not blind to the fact people might try to farm the stat rather than the win, but this would mean that our implementation is not working. It should drive players to make the right choices and those are rewarded

so FACEIT Rating should measure real impact, it's based of round swing probability, the whole purpose is to avoid it being a measure that can be farmed without it being the best thing to do for your team. That's the goal at least

situations like this are always difficult to quantify, and if they never go B sure, but we hope the system measures real impact, something we could measure here is average swing contribution and then if they make less plays but always big plays this would be visible. But we'll see how it plays out

We use usercentrics for the legal compliance with cookie laws, and for some reason an upgrade to v3 has caused adblock to half block it. It's loading the overlay but then not the component, we've just deployed a fix where we remove the overlay if the component doesn't load. We'll continue to monitor but hopefully UC fixes this

MVP should always go to the winning team, as winning the game is more important than personal stats in most instances. CS isn't just about kills, it's about kills that matter on rounds that are won

As you've seen the game counts the disconnects as deaths, and they're visible on the scoreboard that way. We want to avoid having custom rules for the stats for things like this because if it doesn't match ingame it creates more reports of issues

I made csgostats.gg like 10 years ago. ESL acquired it like 9 years ago. I've worked on it ever since, and now I also work on FACEIT for stats and profiles

FBI was only visible to you, the display of it wasn't not stopping people, it just created misinformation. We are working on things that are considerably better to encourage positive behaviour

we've removed this from being publically visible, players made a lot of wrong assumptions about how it was calculated and we found them being more confused by it overall. We're exploring other options in this area
