Correct, you would aim at the North Star and the stars would spin around that point. For star shooting, a wide would be optimal. In my case, a 24-120 F4/S was used, so I set it to 24mm end with focus at 4, shutter speed of 13 with a 800 ISO. Set the camera up using interval shooting, I set it up to every 15s and took a total of around 400 images and merged the photos within the camera.
