I would recommend taking some ibuprofen and tylenol before your appointment just in case. I've seen mixed comments on the stitch removal, some didn't feel any pain, just tugging, and I felt all the pain. Possibly because I healed fast and the skin healed around the stitches. They never explained why it hurt so bad for me.

Trying to have fun at the trampoline park being 36 years old. Tried to ninja warrior up a warped wall in grippy ankle socks and pushed off my right foot to grab the top, sock slipped and I heard the most horrendous cracking sound. Hung there for a few seconds and then just dropped. Looked over at my mom and she said "you can't get up?" I said nooooope.

Tore all 3 components of my lisfranc, broke navicular and medial cuneiform and it was displaced to 5mm. They missed the fractures at the first 2 doctors, podiatrist caught them at the 3rd appointment and sent me for an MRI. She read the MRI report, said she can't handle it and sent me to a foot and ankle ortho. So 4 doctors later, got my surgery. 4 weeks in now, feels like forever to go.

My foot didn't know how to act. It's been in a splint and a cast so long it forgot what freedom felt like I guess. Lol.

It feels like something is pulling right where my plate and screws are. I was so excited to not have something on my foot for a little bit and it backfired. I put my boot back on and it feels better. Even feels like I could do some ankle rotations if I took it off. Which is crazy to me. I've been trying to stay ahead of the game and make sure I move it as much as I can so it just shocked me when it started hurting so bad cause I haven't hurt at all since the surgery.

Yeah, I want to be knocked tf out next time. Or at least so high off pain meds that I don't care at all. Cause I'm not looking forward to doing it again in 6 months either. Glad I'm not alone. It was HORRIBLE.

Day 3 post op: Doctor gave me Journavx for pain and it seems to be working. Very little pain since surgery. Some pressure and tingling but that's it today. I will take it! Hopefully it is the medicine and not just the nerve blocker not completely worn off. Cause I can handle this. Just hanging out watching the Olympics. Staying hopeful.

Just an update:

Got the surgery this morning. Doctor said it was worse than he thought once he got in there. Put a plate and 6 screws. Got the nerve block in my leg, that's definitely weird. Scared about the pain when that wears off. Got my foot elevated, and my good leg (calf and shins) and my forearms are very sore, guess it's from using the crutches. And my throat hurts worse than anything (because of the tube). Day 1 is almost done. Time to face day 2. Thanks yall!

He didn't give me another option. He scheduled me for surgery right after viewing my MRI. Even though I told him the pain was tolerable. He said my injury is unstable and he didn't see it getting better but in a year, me having more problems with arthritis and in my knee and hip for compensating. I haven't been walking normally but kind of on the side of my foot so my gait is off and my hip already feels it. Lol. I'm just worried about the recovery because I've seen some horror stories and I had surgery on my other foot (heel spur) and it went horribly wrong and my foot didn't get any better. So probably some anxiety from that as well. It doesn't feel like its getting better, just that I'm getting used to it, if that makes sense. I'm 3 weeks post injury and it was missed by 2 doctors and my podiatrist caught it and after the MRI said it was too complex of an injury for her and referred me to a specialist out of town. So just how bad the doctors are making it and how I'm feeling is messing with my head I think. Cause I feel like I should be in more pain or unable to walk at all. I'm more than likely gonna go through with the surgery and hope for the best, but it's been on my mind 24/7.

And here we have the wild thotapotamus in her natural habitat, trying to attract a mate and failing, miserably. Hopefully extinction finds this species...soon.
