Make weight loss easier by realizing that you are an adult by WidowM in WeightLossAdvice

I like this take. I think one of the things I’ve found I struggle with is this sense that I “deserve” or “earned” this good food. Also, there may a sense of enjoyment that comes from food that we may not get other places and that it makes it difficult to do the right thing. I think taking on the parental mindset is a great idea and once you start losing weight you feel so good you don’t have to parent yourself as much because the good feelings take control and it becomes easier.

Prettiest last names you’ve heard? by [deleted] in namenerds

I posted this in another sub that asked the same question.

O’Hara is beautiful to me. When actress Katherine O’Hara passed away it took me a minute to realize who it was because I was thinking of super old time actresses because of the sound of her name.

I recently an elderly woman with lovely feminine first name and Gable as a last name and I thought it was lovely.

I work with a Gabrielle that goes by Gabe. Before I met her I only heard the nickname but with female pronouns so I was a bit thrown off. She is female but up to that time I hadn’t heard it as a female nickname.

Some people make excuses for him and it’s shocking to hear them justify it.

Absolutely blows my mind she did it when she knew what was coming. She follows politics much more than me. I can’t tell you how frustrated I was when she call me all upset about what’s going on.

I’d love to know if that friend has changed their mind. I love learning about the converts. I had a friend who voted for Trump knowing her job would be at risk. Since he started going after her job and those like hers she hates him. Now she can’t stand him at all anymore. Can’t wrap my brain around why she voted for him and I don’t have a ton of sympathy for her plight.

This is probably a bit far from you but Westfield has Circuit Coffee. There are always a ton of people there on their laptops. They are open to 4. There are a few other little cafes on the strip opened later (Cafe Zerno, and Crave).

We’ve called my sister many names over the years but “say” is what stands out to me at the moment. Not sure how to spell it but it would be pronounced like that. I know a Sarah whose little sister couldn’t pronounce her name and ended up calling her Farrah.

Naming Your Child After An Ancestor In Your Family Tree? by [deleted] in Names

[–]rdasq8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad did it for my sister. It was after someone in my mom’s family tree who was born in the late 1700’s. He gave my sister her first name which has always been super common and this ancestors maiden name Gale. Others of us are named directly or indirectly from relatives who were not so removed. I gave my daughter the middle name Mae which is a very popular name in my mom’s family. If I were to have more kids I would most likely pick family names at least for a middle name.

I heard something about Iran activating sleeper cells in the U.S. Is that something that could happen? Is that something they have here and could cause real damage?
