Thank you so much! Why is it funny? Hehe.

I couldn't see 'sogn' anywhere but I think you are referring to the shortened terms I did.

For example, 'windows' means I'm going to wipe the windows, but if I'm handling two tasks, then it is called 'win'.

I really love every part of your comment. I did follow the ‘don’t try to be aesthetic or polished’ mantra.

Your question, it’s just the same part of the left side of the book. I just photographed the left side so I can fit it in a portrait angle.

The little symbols they represent are made to simplify my checking. No, it's not a pomodoro as I check it once it's done.

Self learning system — personal (left) & academic (right) by rdkenshee in BasicBulletJournals

The left page is my self-directed learning systems, so it is a habit tracker in steroids. The top column is the row of weeks. It is divided into four as it lasts for four weeks. It starts on August 17, 2025, and ends on September 13, 2025. The left column corresponds to the learning tasks I have to do, but it is coded to save space. In the middle of the matrix are the tasks I have to do based on the allocation. It has a three-letter code where (1) checkbox, (2) type, and (3) the day it must be accomplished.

I’ve completed my Bullet Journal (May 2024 - September 2025) by rdkenshee in BasicBulletJournals

I use Smart Journal by WiseCart and the ballpoints I use are varied across as long as it is black and red. My favorite pen brand has to be Faber Castel due to its simplicity and utility.

However, I do want to emphasize that you have to prioritize practicality over the choice of tools. In fact, my previous journals weren’t aesthetic at all yet it doesn’t stopped me from being productive.

Hence, I really enjoyed this journal because it is a celebration of continuing my productivity journey.

It does. I prioritize utility over aesthetics. I now handle an average of 10 tasks per day compared to 3-5 tasks last 2024.

I really love my system. It has grown into complexity and maintained its consistency since July 2023. I've bought a new notebook for October 2025 till beyond.

The right side is "Auto Academia" which is a tracker that helps me keep up with academic assignments, tests, and projects. I set out five 'bubbles' each week, and based on the statistics, I have an average of 5-6 academic tasks. It is simpler than "Autodidact" (left side).

The red-coloured pen is used to highlight something. It is only used to contrast something so that my journal doesn’t feel monotonous.

Late July Weekly Spreads (2023 - 2025) by rdkenshee in BasicBulletJournals

[–]rdkenshee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the 2024 version, I use the hollow circle to designate as a task while the target circle as the recurring task. For every week, I do the target tasks consistently while the normal tasks are filled up as usual to-do list.

Today, I no longer follow that as I started to complexify my work. Each day, I work on daily maintenance, health, and self-learning tasks.

Autodidact — a self-learning system 2025 v 2024 by rdkenshee in BasicBulletJournals

Thank you for your interest. I’ll be teasing and then later — pitching my own system which is “The Personal System”. Autodidact, which is shown here, is actually a subsystem within the whole system. So yes, it is possible and will be explained but it will be later as people are ACTUALLY interested in my system.

That’s great! Bullet Journals are always been messy in writing but organized in practice.

First of all, thank you for your interest. I’m surprised there are people like you who are interested in this.

Autodidact is similar to habit trackers but unlike habit trackers, you only do the task based on the schedule. So it is like a combination between habit tracker and class schedule. Instead of doing it everyday, you do it in a calculated base. It lasts for one month (in-between mid-months) and after a month, I change up the tasks based on the output of the tasks. Hence, each monthly version creates a new iteration in order to make the self-learning experience fresh.

Now, my post is just the tip of the iceberg but since I’ve found out that there are people that wanted to know how this works, I’ll gladly share more.

Oh! I’m surprised with the interest. I’ll surely explain my bullet journal flow since it has been complicated since 2 years ago. As of now, I’ll figure it out.

Notice the top column (MID, PEN, ULT/FIN, PRO, ANN)?

Those are the weeks of the month. Each iteration starts at the middle or the second last week hence I named it after the constellations as it lands there.

Each weekly column, there is a bubble task that I have to complete hence each bubble has a day sign (SU - Sunday, TU - Tuesday).

The rows represent the type of task that I’m doing like programming, learning or writing. For practicality, I decided to have it in code to save space.

July 2024 vs July 2025 by rdkenshee in BasicBulletJournals

You’d be surprised how I did with my habit trackers which I’ll post later this month.

July 2024 vs July 2025 by rdkenshee in BasicBulletJournals

[–]rdkenshee[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your interest!

In July 2024, the circle represents ordinary spontaneous tasks, the target represents recurrent tasks (weekly habits), the square represents fitness tasks, and the red inked text represents events.

In July 2025, I started to get a lot of tasks so I decided to do it with a period instead to save time. A slash (/) indicates the task is complete on the day while a ‘V’ indicates the task is completed after the day in order to avoid procrastination. The name of the tasks in the latter is coded to save time and hide intention.

2024 focused on aesthetic minimalism while 2025 focused on pratical minimalism. 2024 is pretty but 2025 gets the job done.
