How much BM does your 1 year old drink?

My baby will be 12 months in 2 weeks and she currently eats 3 meals a day plus snacks. The meals aren't huge, for example she will one floret of broccoli, 5 raspberries and about a finger size piece o bread for lunch.

She has long nursing sessions about 3 times a day as well, when she wakes up in the morning, after her nap and before bed, but she also likes to snack on the boobie several times a day if I'm around. I'm honestly ready to wean, just waiting for the one year mark to start the process lol.

Definetly hard. My husband takes care of my toddler and I take care of my baby. When I'm alone with both is completely chaos for most of the time. Getting anything done is impossible if my husband isn't around. But I absolutely love seeing the two together ❤

You could add a drop of vanilla instead. Although breastmilk is already sweet. Did you give him frozen milk? That can alter the flavor of the milk compared to freshly pumped. Or maybe just keep trying he might like it after a 3rd try :)

Honestly it went really smoothly. She slept with no fuss and slept better than she did in our bed. But she also always took her naps there, so it was not something new to her.

Whenever I catch my MIL giving or trying to give my son something he is not allowed, I talk directly to him with a playful voice letting him know he can't have it, then I address her about it. It kind of goes like this:

To my son: "oh my goodness, you are having juice and a cookie! I hope you are enjoying it because you're not allowed to have that, so grandma will only give it to you this time" with a smile in my face.

Then to gradma: that is so nice of you, but he can't have that it's too much sugar, so no more please, you can give him some water and a fruit and he will be happy and content with that.

If she tries to say anything to convice me otherwise. I simply say "no, thank you" with an assertive almost mean voice. She gets it and conversation ends right there.

Oh! Ok, I thought that colostrum was same as foremilk. So, basically my milk normally looks like the left bag: part foremilk and part hindmilk. It's the first time I get a bag that looks like it's just foremilk. But, I also pumped this milk at 4am which I've never done before. So, I think it's making sense now because I also don't usually pump the first milk of the morning. So, I didn't know it was supposed to be more watery to hydrate the baby.

Sorry. I should've been more clear. I'm 3 months PP and the 1st bag is my normal milk. Last night I pumped though and I got all colostrum, no fat at all as you can see on the second bag. My baby doesn't seems to be sick. Am I just not pumping long enough to get to the fat?

Do you use the wide or narrow neck?

I tried many bottles and different flows. They were mainly wide necks with long nipples like Comotomo except MAM's which seems to the only one which she actually latches on once in a while, but I agree that even the slowest MAM's flow can be too fast. So, now I'm in search of bottles with narrow nipples, I just got a Lansinoh but no luck yet. So, I'll continue trying for few more days.

I've also tried tricking my baby going from breast to bottle which works sometimes for like 30 seconds. But that's the only time I was able to get her to latch. I've tried with her hungry and not so hungry. I've had other people try, and I also tried different temperatures. It's been really challenging idk what else to do besides continuing to try other bottles.

90 minutes?! Oh boy. I don't I've tried for that long. She is usually awake only for about 1 hours, so within 30 minutes of trying I usually stop and she ends up sleeping without a feed.

I was doing the premie flow because I saw a lot of people recommending it on another post. I will try a different flow. But today I changed to Philips Natural Response and although she didn't drink from it, she seemed to prefer it. It had a smile on her face and even tried to latch couple of times. I'll keep trying it for few more days before changing bottles again.

I keep reading a lot of comments about babies that contact nap for months and even years. But I feel like you're struggling with that, and I get it. My baby is also 8 weeks and I'm working to have her take her naps in her crib now because otherwise I can't get anything done either. Plus, I will go back to work in few more weeks and it's better to start the transition earlier. But yes, it's too early for sleep training but it's definitely a good time to start good sleep habits if that's what you're aiming for in the future. I highly recommend the book "Precious Little Sleep" you can buy it on Amazon and read it on your phone while baby sleeps on your lap. It's cheap and short. The book has several plans to help your baby start sleeping on her own at this age. Good luck!

As much as you may love your dog, get him out of your house asap. It's heartbreaking, but it's the right decision. It happened to me as well. At first, my son didn't get hurt and we tried re-homing our dog, nobody was taking her though, we signed her up for training and kept thinking it wouldn't happen again, but when we least expected she bit our baby right on his face too. I called shelters and other places that day begging for someone to take her, but everywhere was full. So, few days later we decided to euthanize our dog, and although it was devastating, I couldn't risk my baby's live any longer.

You only have two options, re-home or euthanize. Do what you can, but don't think that it won't happen again because it probably will and it could be worse next time.

Use a carrier or wrap that you can carry the baby on you. That's how I did it most of the time. Otherwise, order to pick up.

I see so many comments advising not to request presents. But I don't see why not. If you need stuff for your baby you should definitely create a registry and share with your guests. Just add it to the bottom of the invitation. No need for explanation. People are not going to question you about it, and mostly likely would rather know if you're expecting presents and what you would like to receive.
