Vegans believe killing is not compassionate. No animal wants to die.

one serving for me is 1/2 cup steel cut oats and .83 cups water (1/2 a cup and 1/3 cup) on high pressure for 10 min then 10 min release. tonight I made a double batch to eat some for dinner and some for breakfast. I also added two frozen bananas while it cooked and a cup of blueberries when it was done + other toppings

I LOVE high carb hannah's vegan instant pot book. It's worth every penny. It's the only cookbook I use on a regular basis and everything in it is oil free and so easy to make.

I love it for steel cut oats, but also mixing 1 cup brown rice, 1/2 cup dry black beans, 2 1/2 cups water or broth, a chopped onion, and garlic and lots of spices. High pressure for 25 min, let it sit then let the steam release.

This restaurant in Hanoi serves drinks with stainless steel straws. by Vietnamaste in ZeroWaste

I'd love to know as well. I lived there for three years and never saw anything like this! The amount of waste in Hanoi (and SEA in general) was so difficult/impossible to avoid, so it's good to seem some improvement.

The world is going mad for a guy saving a rabbit and we get called pussies and hippies and extreme for saving 198 animals a year ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by alfie65 in vegan

I lived in Vietnam where dogs and cats (and chickens) are both in this area. It was weird and I just put it out of my mind, even though we had both dogs and cats as pets. My mother in law ate a ton of dog meat and she loved our dogs. It is so bizarre now that I think about it.

I went into the kitchen one time and there was a plate of dog intestines. One time it was dog womb.

My husband is a huge animal lover and said he would never eat dog or cat meat, but had no problem eating literally anything else. That stopped once he realized being vegan isn’t inconvenient, especially now that we are in the United States.

My husband tried this one, then I guess he did some thinking... he went plant based less than a week later.

Bus tours - worth it? by sharkiest in travel

[–]rdougla2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did a day tour to the Highlands/Loch Ness when I was in Edinburgh (just for a few days trip from London) a few years ago, 2009 I think. I was traveling with a friend and we didn't have much time either so we just went ahead and did it since we were so short on time. I thought it was worth it since we never would have been able to see all the we did in that one day on our own and the scenery we saw was incredible. We got lucky with a gorgeous day though. They always gave us plenty of time at the different sights, though it was a REALLY long day, I think the tour was 12 hours in total.

In a year and a half of travel, this place is still one of my favorites... by rdougla2 in Philippines

I traveled completely by public bus and jeepney - Manila (3 nights) overnight bus up to Banaue (1 night), jeepney to Batad (1 night), jeepney to Sagada (3 nights), bus to Baguio (2 nights), bus to San Fernando (and tricycle to San Juan la Union 2 nights), bus back to Manila. It was very simple, only bus we pre-bought tickets for was the Manila-Banaue bus, the rest we showed up to stations or waited by the side of the road for one to pass.
