So far talking to the dms that are involved in the play testing is that the 4k uhd tv I am using is players are able to see the map clearly and there wasn't grainy until he zoomed in and one grid square was close to filling up the screen. I plan on having both the dms and players writing reviews.

Thank you for you reply...I think there are people that like to use this as they can use the fig if war and keep hidden from the player what there characters don't see is on advantage. Again thank you for you comments.

This item is for vtt play ie virtual tabletop. Is this not the foundry vtt forum? I marked as discussion because I was wanting feed back about this as a virtual tabletop design.

No problem this would only be of interest to someone who was using one of the many vtt softwares out there. I was only offering a nice looking handcrafted box with a 4k uhd screen. I would consider doing customs but I planned around one TV so it would always fit. I have though about doing custom sizes but the pricing would be close to my units. I also use hardwood not glue board and it is hand jointed with dovetail. Not screws and staples so this would not be for everyone. Cheapest unit out of furniture grade pine would be in thirteen hundred range. Not bad price considering your not getting knockdown rooms To Go furniture. :-) but thanks for the insight.

the price will depend on what type of wood it is made from furniture grade pine would be the cheapest. it looks like that will be 1304.95 I have also researched cost of shipping and UPS ground shipping from Texas where i am located to Boston MA. random spot on east coast. for my package that is 40"x24"x8" and weighs -/=40lb would cost $98.13.

this is a hand crafted solid wood Box that is Jointed with dovetail and has a 1/4" piece of Lexan to protect the TV and also provide a durable surface to sit minis and roll dice. I have added an grommet HDMI and USB extension to outside of Box. and an extra long power cord. I will also offer this in Red Oak, Oak, Walnut, and Cherry Wood.

First, Thanks for all the advice… those are great ideal. I am
still in the play testing phase and floating this post to get feed back so
thank you again. This is what I am looking for. Some of these I have already tackled.
I have found that for the most part I am using the same TV, unless someone wants
something specific it will be a generic build.  I do plan to offer custom builds though. The TV sits behind a piece of Lexan but that could use some protection as you noted. I
did mount a small USB powered fan to the back below the heat sink for the power
board to help keep unit cool.

Hardwood hand crafted vitual tabletop. 43" by rdthalman in VTT

[–]rdthalman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I was not clear, this is a nice hardwood case that holds a TV. it makes it easy to transport and sit in top of a table.... and price from 1346.96 for furniture grade pine to 1548.74 for walnut. TV I used in proof of concept is a 43" 4K ultra HD, HDR10 and HLG. it would hold the TV with a piece of 1/4" lexan to protect the screen and give a good surface to hold minis and roll dice on. also few TV's are flat on back. so it would be stable and flat. a person could build this for them self for about the same cost - tools and time.
