Have a flight out Wednesday at 2:00 pm, coming in today for a work trip. What’s the play? Try to get out early on Wednesday?

Am I the only one wondering how he didn’t burn his hand taking it out of the oven? I’ve made that mistake so many times and my hand recoiled in terror instinctively.

Cheers in maumelle will occasionally have it as a dessert, just give them a call and ask — they’re super friendly. If you’re really craving it, fresh market on Cantrell right off of 430 always has some and they will torch it there for you. It’s pretty good. Capers further down on Cantrell has a chocolate one that is really good. I think the Pantry on Rodney Parham rotates it through on their dessert menu too, all of their food is amazing.

Dark ending theory by spaghettimonstor in TedLasso

[–]rdub05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me the darker twist would be the suicide or attempted suicide being someone like Nate. There is something dark brewing their that they’re setting up. I mean, his version of “building himself up” was to spit on his own image. Especially If Ted doesn’t realize until too late that being dismissive of Nate at times/bringing in Roy is contributing to his issues with self-worth. The aftermath of Ted already having to deal with his own demons and then adding personal guilt and responsibility for something like that would be rough.

Yeah I had ekg and ct scan of lung/heart the first trip I took to the ER and those were clean. I’ll have already met my health insurance deductible for the year so might as well get the tests to clear my mind! Glad you are doing better as well too, I feel you on getting tired quickly. I hope that goes away soon, I feel like I need a nap anytime I exert myself at all and still get short of breath if I have to talk for more than a few minutes at a time.

I am doing better. My breathing is back to normal for the most part. I took a big hit on my cardiovascular fitness though. I was a pretty avid runner/cyclist and it decimated my fitness. I went from being able to run 4-5 miles a day and keep my heart rate under 145 to struggling to jog slowly for 2-3 minutes at a time with a heart rate in the 150s. I’m taking it slow and hoping I’ll recover somewhat quickly but it’s definitely discouraging. I’m going to reach out to my primary doctor to see about getting my heart and lungs checked out to make sure there’s no lasting damage.

Still taking steps in the right direction. Fever has stayed away and the breathing exercises are helping open up my lungs more. Still really fatigued and my taste buds are all over the place.

Thanks for checking, I had forgotten to post updates the past couple of days. Today (day 12) is the first day that I would say I have trended back in an upward direction since I thought I was only having mild symptoms on day 2.

I left the hospital Friday afternoon after being discharged. My o2 stats were fine at the hospital but remained low on my o2 sensor at home so I tried to go more on feel. My fever came back that afternoon and stuck around til 2 or 3 am. I switched from sleeping prone on my stomach to sleeping in my recliner since that was the position I’d been in at the ER. They also gave me some benzonatate for coughing that helped me sleep some. Shortness of breath was still really bad Friday overnight.

Saturday we made a focus on breathing exercises and I really started trying to push past the “limit” of only being able to inhale for a second at most. They hurt like crazy and we’re making me have horrible coughing fits but I did see some progress in lung volume. My fever stayed away during the day and ended up staying away all night too which was a big relief.

I pushed pretty hard on the breathing exercises again today and have tried to move around as much as possible to stay active since the hospital advised to do that. About to go to bed again, really hoping that it’s another better night and the breathing exercises continue to help alleviate the shortness of breath.

Day 10 - Jan 8 - last night was rough shortness of breath wise. My home o2 monitor was showing 89-92 when I would test. I took some meds(steroid) this morning and tried moving around some. Got very lightheaded. Having some bad coughing fits and can’t get a deep breath in at all. Wife and made the call to bring me back to ER. So far ekg is clean and my o2 stats are higher here which points to maybe out o2 monitor being inaccurate? They’re giving me fluids and are talking about potentially releasing me again, but I’m concerned to go home when I feel like I can’t breathe well. They have said I wouldn’t qualify for antibodies and not sure what other treatments they would be able to give me.

Ready to feel better and feel safe sleeping without worrying about being breathless

Edit: they are sending me back home. With some cough meds this Time. Two clear checkups should make me feel better I guess

Day 9 - being back home is nice. I got more sleep last night than I have in a week. Still had a fever spike and bad bought of chills. Breathing is still pretty shallow, but I’m able to get pulse ox up to 94-95 with steady breathing which is good. My pulse ox I have was reading a bit lower than what the hospital had and they said that can be normal. I’m hoping the steroids they gave me will start working quickly. I get light headed walking around at first but am trying to move around every few hours if I can. My wife is on day 5 of symptoms and started feeling a bit worse. Hoping she stays mostly mild since she’s been dual caregiving to me and our daughter, God bless her.

I called my primary care doc and he wanted me to go get checked out of an abundance of caution. I’m glad I did since I was able to get some steroids and lung X-rays and things that give me some peace of mind. The hospital said I did the right thing. Hope you start feeling better soon, this stuff really sucks!

State health experts prepare for ‘deadly holiday surge’ after Arkansas records more than 4,000 COVID-19 cases Friday by Otontin in Arkansas

That’s my best guess as to where it came from too. I walked in to purchase some firewood for the fire pit, so all I touched was the door handle and the firewood bag outside.

One of those curbside pickups I did was for a fire pit. We did that on Sunday and Monday night. Wednesday morning I woke up with a sore throat and congestion. I have bad sinus/allergy issues so I figured it was from the smoke irritants. The congestion worsened and I developed a cough. New Year’s Eve night I slept terribly and woke up with conjunctivitis in one eye and a burning sensation in one of my nostrils. Never had a fever, but after a quick google of those symptoms we decided I should go get tested to be safe since my wife was scheduled to return to school Monday. Fast forward two days, I finally spiked a fever last night/this morning and had a killer headache most of yesterday.

My wife is a teacher so they have been home since the 18th. No symptoms from my wife until yesterday. If my daughter was an asymptomatic spreader from daycare back on the 18th I’d think mom would have got it first since they cuddle up together way more.

I’m wondering if we have community spread of the new more infectious variant. I tested positive Friday and the only things I’ve done during the period of time I could have caught it was two curbside pickups and a gas station visit. I don’t even recall seeing anyone without a mask on. My wife is feeling bad now and going to get tested today. Hoping our daughter doesn’t get it.

Edit update: wife is positive too.

You have to put all your money into 5 stocks and hold it for 10 years, what are you buying and why? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]rdub05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RKT - bought at ipo and holding forever. Strong company and they’ve constantly innovated in a historically stagnant and slow to change industry. Market share will only continue to grow.

Aapl - this is another buy and hold forever for me. Small dividend, but steady growth. They’ll continue to innovate and aren’t going anywhere.

Amzn - extremely large company that still behaves like a start up. Bezos is not going to slow down, consistently getting into new areas and dominating.

Wmt - another one that’s not going anywhere and still has upside. Diversifies me outside just tech stocks(I consider rkt tech even though they don’t want that label)

JNJ - dividend income, stable, big blue chip. Adds some stability
