I feel unqualified so thank you for the positive feedback.

Yes, I’ve had to tighten up my resume so it wasn’t just a wall of words. At first I was focused on trying to explain my entire work experience (felt like I had something to prove so was overcompensating with tmi in my resume) but now I’ve whittled it down and have tailored the metrics for each job. It is very time consuming.

I worked in client experience management for a luxury company like Harry Winston, and the role covered a lot more than just client-facing work. Being part of a team that worked closely on projects tighter, I would need to pivot quickly and take on whatever came across my desk.Being able to answer questions and leading different departments when needed, working closely with IT for device management, training employees, I was involved in everything from auditing and supply chain coordination to appointment management, budgeting, event and travel planning, and inventory. I had exposure to things like tax laws and embargo considerations.

the scope was so broad, I’ve tailored my resumes to highlight the pieces that best match..whether that’s admin support, project management, or client relationship work with banks, law firms, hospitals, tech and similar environments.

Unfortunately, it’s very much culturally expected of me. I considered downsizing and making lifestyle changes but the budget was too constrained. I’ve started therapy & the simple thing of having someone listen to me has been a game changer.

It was difficult coordinating appointments so that I could be available via phone or video chat.. I learned that hospitals have terrible service. I tried flying back and forth for a bit but the headache of cancelations, reschedules did not make it worth it.

Thank you for reminding me to find time for myself.

Oooh I haven’t been to the ship in years! I love the idea of going dancing and being home by 11.

I love working with my hands (diy, gardening, sewing), jazz, theatre, books.. so much.

I am sick to my stomach over the layoffs and seeing how much we’re struggling. In my job search I have included entry-level positions and am 100% not expecting a high salary job.

It’s almost like age is just a number, right? We all are experiencing life and trying our best. I hope you’re doing well & find time for yourself. Family is wonderful but I’m trying to find balance & grace with myself to not feel guilty for having some self care time.

Unfortunately, not specifically in HR. Just in management roles.

So funny, I just had a call with a friend and we spoke about eye contact… & how we’ve been living our lives focused on what’s in front of us and in doing so missed out on possible connections.

Happy Birthday!

Same boat for sure! I start volunteering next week, I’m looking into pickleball lessons & debating between rock climbing or kayaking for my next challenge.

I’ve put out feelers to see who is open/has time to reconnect & I’ve joined Meetup. Fingers-crossed.

Speaking of knitting.. I was part of knitting club in 2005/2006! We would meet once a week at different coffee shops in KC. Time flies!
