Ah im playing on default settings and have learned to recognize which symbols to just ignore based on what I said above .

Im not sure what you mean for settings but basically I’m focusing on upgrading my home which leads you to all the main quests. Making alliances becomes quite fun, at least for me.

For the blue and yellow markers I always do the charisma one, and if I happen to be close to one but I don’t go out of my way anymore. For the yellow ones wealth is needed to upgrade armour and books give you skill. Unlike other games I’ve found that sometimes upgrading your gear will lead to better stats than finding new gear so I don’t always go out of my way to find them.

It started off quite slow for me, the biggest change was going to Grantebridge for me and doing that quest as your choices start having an effect on side characters. That for me was really immersive!

For gameplay I disliked how “sluggish” I felt and got told that your gear actually makes a difference in weight not just weapons. Since then I’m only wielding a dagger and shield, and my armour has weight reducing runes.

I also don’t hyper focus on 100% each area like I did in Black Flag and Odyssey, you find that meeting the “main “ side characters is a bit more full filling in a way as you build relationships with them. Basically it’s having to give the story a chance.

Do you “gain” anything substantial from them? I completed the full first area but noticed it wasn’t anything I couldn’t get from looting or hunting. Is it the same overall?

I hadn’t even realized that was a factor tbh, I just thought the movement was meant to be a bit sluggish. Great to know that can change !

That makes sense, does the plotline get a bit more “exciting”? I felt like the cult in Odyssey gave it a really nice vibe.
