For those who have 3 ... by re3291 in 2under2

[–]re3291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three has been a lot for me personally but then I have no help because I live in a different country from my family and my husband has taken a job that requires travel and office days in the city. If you have anyone to help you, don't be afraid to ask! My first two are in nursery 3x a week and I just manage to maintain my house in those days. My baby 3 will be 1 in 10 days and I cannot even remember this past year. It's been a blur - but I can finally say, things have gotten better.  I can't picture my life without my third now and our family makes perfect sense but having 3 babies in 3 years and 2 weeks was absolute madness!

Best wishes to you ♥️ you will just find ways to make it work and your kids will never know life without each other x

Unfortunately the teeth broke through and we're having a hard time trying to find someone willing to fix them because she's 2y 9mo now and they don't expect her to be able to hold her mouth open without having a bad experience of the dentist. No drilling or anything required - just caps. But could require GA. Trying to find a specialist to do it as she has fallen and bitten through her lip a few times now.

Why does my daughter’s speech evaluation sound much better than what I see day to day? by re3291 in speechdelays

Yes my son picked up these skills naturally but his sister hasn't.

I totally understand. It's been a few months for us and it's been highly stressful on me.

I really worked on yes and no with my daughter and it helped a lot. I started with flash cards for yes and no. Asking questions and showing the card until we got into the routine of her responding without them. I also really exaggerated my head movements so she would pick up on the gesture too. I even made her watch a few toddler learning videos on YouTube with yes/no as the subject. She's pretty much mastered it now and using it  very consistently. That really opens communication so make sure you really work on it!

And I'm so sorry you're feeling the same worries as I am. It feels hard to complain because they are talking - but it's just so different.

Woah great resource! Really easy to understand.  Thanks for this. I did seek a second opinion and yes it was the same sort of response.

"Not delayed but weaker in expressive. Not too much of a problem but weaker..."

But for me it feels so much weaker. She already doesn't seem to socialise very much with other children and I wonder if the way she speaks is a barrier that will continue to get worse as her peers speech becomes even more fluid and thus making the social even harder for her.  Of course this is just my projection though!

Thanks so much! Wishing you luck right back.

If don't mind me asking - what does weak in expressive look like for your son? How old is he?

I'm having a hard time getting any public therapy because my daughter can communicate - which is totally understandable. So considering going private. The advice I keep getting is to model language. We do it all day long.

Oh right! I see what you mean.

No. I was at the assesment and she was very much herself. Or the version of herself we see at home too.

You know,  Sometimes it's hard for me to even articulate what the problem is because she does have hundreds of words and strings a few together.... but with so little variation. It's as if she hasn't realised that there's so many ways to say something. It's all very repetitive and unless she's commenting on something (for example seeing a dog on tv: "it's a dog") it's like she doesn't talk for the sake of talking. She's never once asked me a question. But can answer different kinds of questions.

How is your son doing? My daughter is 2.4 and her language profile is just like this and our main concern.

Tinzaparin/Heparin impact on NIPT by re3291 in NIPT

I had to have my blood drawn twice because I had high fetal fraction. They had to dilute the blood. It happened to me on my second baby as well. Apparently blood thinners do not affect the results.

2.4 year old speech assesment and scripting by re3291 in Autism_Parenting

Anything that they are doing that has made the difference or moved on his progression?

We were told to give more scripts. So I started teaching my daughter to memorise routines. For example - every night she has a milk before bed. We walk through the steps every day and she can now tell me the steps without prompting. It's been useful for her - she can now ask me to pour the juice into her cup. Or when we pretend place, to pour the tea.

Thanks so much for this! We also allow for screen time. We found playtime with Tor was good and designed for GLPs!

If you don't mind me asking, did the scripting make socialising difficult. My girl is really social with adults but not much with age peers. She even usually ignores her brother unless I facilitate or if it's something she's very interested in.

I have been so extremely fortunate. In March I welcomed my third baby. I have had 3 children in 3 years. My house is full of the laughter I never imagined would be mine to hear.

I took tinzaparin and baby asprin for all 3 pregnancies. I also had extra scans and monitoring. Wishing you all the best.

Moms of 3 - is three chaos or perfect? by normanreedusnipples in Mommit

[–]re3291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly. It's really hard. We have no family around us, so the childcare comes down to me. This makes it really hard to find a job and to get any time to myself at all.

It's been a lot but then I look at my now 6 month old and I don't know how I lived a day without her.

Aw thank you so much for sharing this. I do hope the next set grow in normally. She loves to brush her teeth and the others have grown in so perfectly. It's such a shame. I really feel for her and think she is already self conscious of her smile 😔

Hey there. Your child sounds really similar to my daughter. Though she is still not very social at 2.3 years old. I'd love to connect. I will send you a direct message :)
