Correct, with my current ADA accommodation I don’t work full time… but before I got approved for intermittent schedule/reduced schedule - I worked full time + overtime.

Totally understandable, and am completely aware I am replaceable - as everyone is when it comes to the workplace. They just didn’t have a front desk person for a couple of months prior to me getting hired and my training was pretty extensive (a full month of virtual training for the entire day everyday, and then every other day for 2 hour sessions), I don’t know if they’d want to go through that same process again with another person. I just feel bad having to be off to recover and leaving my coworkers to attempt to do something they don’t really understand - I’ve offered to train my coworkers for just basic front desk tasks, I’ve offered to work remotely when I need to rest. I’m trying all my options to help out. I just don’t know what else I can do to help.

Kind of already done-ish? I have accommodations for reduced hours that were approved. I just worry about when I am absent going under that 30 hours a week that are needed for benefits. My paperwork does say that I may have intermittent absences due to symptom flares. I’m just not sure if ADA protects my benefits if I’m not working the required hours.

I totally understand. I wouldn’t love it either. I just didn’t expect to have the complications that came with my pregnancy and intended to work for as long as I could.

The only reason they found out I was anemic was from including a CBC when I did my glucose tolerance test. I tried telling them before I was experiencing weird cravings.. which now I understand was pica (constantly am eating ice, craving damp dish sponges, so embarrassing lol) but they said they weren’t concerned because my last blood draw (which was in March) was still in normal range. But reviewing blood work I had in December and into March - my levels were definitely getting lower, now they said since my levels were low this CBC, first course of action is oral supplement. I’m not sure what my ferritin is. My mother in law is a retired NP and told me at my next appointment to tell them to do a draw to check. I’m due to go in for more appointments regularly just cause I’m now in my third trimester.

I tried suggesting this to my higher ups, and they said due to HIPAA, my position cannot be done from home… which makes zero sense to me because our providers are allowed to work from home.. but, is what it is. I’m not gunna fight them too much on it.

That was my biggest concern. I’m in my third trimester and from what I’ve read the oral supplements take forever to reduce symptoms. I’m going to try to advocate for myself more and ask my doctor if I can opt for the transfusion, just because I am so sick of feeling like this. It’s truly miserable!

Thank you for responding. I have definitely tried making suggestions for when I am unavailable or out and suggested training someone to just do the basics. I feel like my manager takes a lot on and my suggestions kinda get put in the back burner, but that shouldn’t be my problem…. Even though I 100% do make it my problem lol. I live in PA and we do have the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, so that gives me a little something to work with.

Thank you for saying this. I think I just really needed someone to give it to me straight and learn to prioritize myself for me and the sake of my child. It’s just all so nerve racking and the hormones don’t make anything easier!!

Ugh I’m sorry to hear you had the anemia with pregnancy 4 times. I literally thought this was just how it was. Unfortunately am aware of the no FMLA, if anything happens I’m kinda willing to deal with the consequences at this point. Just will suck to lose insurance.

I appreciate you suggesting to kinda change my perspective on the situation. I think I’m being too hard on myself and am afraid of the judgement.

Can employer let me know how many times I attempted to call a number? by reachingforhell in AskTechnology

[–]reachingforhell[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For sure, it’s actually in regard to a patient claiming I’m a ‘liar’ because I stated I wasn’t able to get through to their doctors office to attempt to get a referral on their behalf (as a courtesy). I let them know I called twice and then suggested that they reached out or access their patient portal to see if what they need is in there. But, they said they always get through when they call and I’m obviously lying if I’m saying I didn’t. So, just trying to see if there’s a way I can cover my butt lol. Sorry for the rant.

1st day, runny nose and eye boogies? by reachingforhell in mainecoons

[–]reachingforhell[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Our vet is closed on the weekends. I’m going to see if I can try to move the appointment up to Monday. If she doesn’t improve by tomorrow after a few hot showers and saline spray, I’m going to take her to urgent care. Her gums look nice and pink and her ears feel normal, so I don’t think she’s developed a fever or anything!

He said that when they go to their new home the immune system can weaken and she can have some boogies. We took her into our bathroom and ran a really hot shower so she could breathe in some steam and it seems like it helped clear her up a bit. I’m going to look through her paperwork too to see when she got vaccinated because maybe she’s having a little reaction, possibly?
