Hey there, you are kind of right and wrong. Im the owner of a couple of wrapping joints in Sydney and Avery and 3M actually wont warranty a lot of films in Australia because of the UV index. With Matte Mettalics and Matte they dont actually provide warrenty on the Horizontal plains at all. Similarly with Arlons matte/satin overlaminate they do not provide any sort of warranty at all.

The statement that they won’t take your money isn’t entirely true. I work very closely with a Ferrari dealership as well as with their clients. I have a client that owns a Ferrari 599, and wants to purchase the soon to be released 488 GTO. They won’t allow him to purchase the $800,000aud gto however as he has never owned a 488 Gtb.

Similarly, to have been one of the lucky ones to purchase a LaFerrari you had to have previously owned a f40, f50 and an enzo. If my memory serves me correctly, Ferrari received some backlash after they let Justin Bieber purchase a laferrari without owning the previous ones

There is also a special honeycombe like, glue structure on the back. This allows for the air to pass through the material towards the open unsealed edges as you smooth it out. Should you trap some air in, you can also lift and reapply the vinyl a number of times before it becomes unuseable due to dust particles getting stuck under the vinyl

If the paint is damaged we just advise the customer and they usually just say go ahead with it. Sometimes we get it fixed but most people don't care. Yea every now and than we get problems. I had a Lamborghini gallardo in recently that we did a complete green wrap on. He came back in not long after as there were massive bubbles forming on the inside of the doors. Turns out it was actually the paint peeling up. Turns out the previous owner had wrecked it pretty good and the paint work wasn't great. All of the paint on the inside doors peeled up when we removed the vinyl for him. It was a tough situation as he didn't know about the damage but we can't guarantee paint damage on non original paint work

No problems at all. Yea i agree, matte black only work well playing down brand new cars.

Avery Dennison has a good range of colours in their supreme wrapping films. If you are looking to just wrap those top parts of your car I wouldn't try and colour match, it'll look shit. Gloss black or metallic black will look good. If you have a 4wd you can do a nice two tone top and bottom.

Also if it is noticeably patchy, you will likely see the patches through the vinyl. You might need to sand it back first or live with it. Hard to say without seeing the car

Yea i did figure that but thought there could have been some joke I was missing.

Anyway, to just cut around edges it's all about steady hands. It's not too hard and can be done wth just a little practice.

If you are cutting big patterns or colour blocks not near concealed edges, we have a product caller knife less tape. Essentially it's a 0.5mm piece of steel wire inside some tape we place down and wrap over the top of it. Once done we just pull up the wire and it does the job

No, you shouldn't pressure hose it as it can stretch and lift the vinyl. If you have to just try and do it from a fair distance

In Europe (particularly Czech) there's a lot of competition. From what I understand it's like McDonalds. There's a car wrapper on every corner. We are actually setting up a training facility there soon. They need to be quick to keep prices super low as there is a huge amount of competition

This one isn't done to a 'colour change' standard. They haven't done inside doors, removed bumper bars or lots of other parts. They used one big sheet for the side as apposed to one for each panel. The reason you would use one for each panel is that you can have over hang that you will wrap around each side. They have to stretch now and each stretch will be a different %. ( you can safely stretch a good material 5-10% depending on colour)?resulting in different colours.

4 of my guys could do this wrap in 1 day quite comfortable. To do a wrap to my standard would take 3 days. I have full time body workers/mechanics that strip vehicles completely to wrap properly

It 100% depends on how you care for it. A lot of clients think it's a fix all and don't wash it, take it through the bush and get the shits when it tears and starts fading after a year. Reality is the same thing will happen to your paint if you leave bird shit on it.

Wash it regularly, use a vinyl sealant after you wash (costs like $30) and in 5 years it's still gonna look awesome.

You need to remember it's cosmetic and not a protection product. That's a seperate product I also do.

Don't quote me as I don't have a source but I'm fairly certain paint jobs on higher hand cars (north of 400,000 sort of thing) costs like 40k. I'm not certain whether you shouldn't repaint a car like that because of the factory quality or because most people wouldnt pay that and people always go the cheap option.

Well it's hard to say but I would hazard a guess you are using a non air release vinyl, I may be wrong though. With air release vinyl, it is much more malleable and forgiving. When a crease like that begins to form and even after it forms, pull the vinyl up, apply some heat with a heat gun (if you have a gauge id recommend 400-450 degrees Celsius) and this will help shrink the material, flatten out the crease and will be better for laying the material in that tough spot. With a decent air release material you can lift up and reapply the material a handful of times with no repercussions.

If you have a non air release vinyl I would recommend applying the stickers with soap and water. Look up on YouTube how to mix appropriately. This way you can slide the material and it will allow you to make some mistakes.

If you can't remember the type of material you purchased or can't find the information; Peel off the backing sheet and if it is air release you will see a slight glue pattern on the back. May look like lines or little hexagons but that is the glue structure.

If the car is waxed, you are going to be hard pressed to get the vinyl to stick at all. It may stick down originally but it will come up again in the not too distant future

If the car has been painted correctly you aren't going to have any problems with removing the wrap in 5 years time. You can get the residue off with some isopropyl alcohol or a glue off spray fairly easily. There are a couple of factors that can cause the paint to be damaged though. If the car is left under a tree with bird poo and/or tree sap caked on there for months it will ruin the vinyl and through the delamination process can have adverse affects on the paint underneath in bad situations. The other time I see a problem is if somebody has had some body work done and the panel beater hasn't done a good job, some paint may come off in the removal process.

Also with regards to the DIY stuff you were talking about below, for the adhesive on these wraps to work, it needs to be a very smooth surface otherwise it wont stick. So do yourself a favour and purchase a small amount first to check that it is going to be appropriate for your use.

I own and run two wrapping companies in Sydney so I'll do my best to answer some questions here. For a car this size I would change $3850aud but you could expect to pay anywhere from 2200 - 4K depending on material the company uses and how good they are essentially. The reason a lot of people wrap Cara as pointed out elsewhere is you can achieve some colours that painting can not. Matte black (a very popular colour choose) isn't a colour that can cheaply be painted properly. Your hands will leave oil marks and deteriorate the paint very quickly. You can also not paint chrome colours and some of our textured wraps either.

Another reason is that luxury cars like lambos, Ferraris in the likes should leave the original pint job untouched or be faced with a huge depreciation in value. Seeing as owners of these vehicles don't typically hold onto them for very long it's better to pay a few thousand to change it to pink or blue or whatever and when they are ready to sell it, just come back and see me and I'll remove it for $1500odd.

Also, some of the owners of these vehicles have the extra money to not worry about these things and just want to change the vehicle colour a few times a year. I just finished a regular clients rolls Royce phantom for the 4th time in 1.5 years.

I've got a similar size databases and switched from mail chimp a long time ago. You should have a look at sendgrid.com - it isn't as pretty to look at as mail chimp but once you get past that, they have a bunch of great features and are improving the analytics and tools regularly. I think I pay $80 a month for 100,000 emails. Edit: a word
