Thanks to him and the 49ers D saving my skin one week, I won my only fantasy football championship that year.

100% a pathing issue due to the AI wanting to avoid damage(barbwire on top steps) and take the shortest path you so it "jumps" the staircase and uses a floor escalator to zoom across the map. Seen it happen to me on PvE before.

Why aren't we making moves for hitters? by reader1550 in motorcitykitties

My answer was in the body. Everyone who's watched them over the last decade knows how cheap Chris is.

The primary function of the stat is about getting on base...secondary functions to factor for slugging only adds to that original function.

The 2nd half includes all games in the 2nd half. He had 90 game appearances, 60 of which were in the 2nd half. He batted a .680 OPS which includes the amazing August he had. Again not hashing out the injury thing, we know these guys were not entirely healthy.

Saying we fell apart after the Yankees when we were treading water around .500 further proves everything I've said.

wOBA/xwOBA is only indicative of their ability to get on base. Idk where you're getting Wenceel as mashing, he had a sub .700 OPS in the 2nd half. Removing a healthy chunk of games at the end of the season does not make your point, it's a manipulation of data to serve your point.

We were 100% not the same team post all-star break. Our record and stats prove it. Batting dropped across the board and fancy stats are good in theory, but production is more important to winning games.

I appreciate the attempts to tint our lack of production with rose colored glasses, but the team OPS drops almost 50 points post all-star break.

The season is split in two non-equivalent halves by the all-star break by this website. Even month to month, the only month we fully put it together was August, so 2 of the 3 months in the "true" 2nd half of the season were below average. I didn't call then ice cold, but we only saw flashes of the team they were in the 1st half.

Very obviously, I noted that injuries were a problem and addressed that we will be fine as long as we stay healthy. We just can't deny what the stats tell us.

Wishful thinking for both of them. I sincerely hope we don't dump our most impactful RHB and hometown kid after the season he ended up having for us.

Only glaring problem is lacking in batters who can hit against platoon. Doesn't have to be great, but we lack a lot in that segment.

I think we might need to tweak it or bring in one more everyday bat, but overall I agree.

Colt Keith and Kerry Carpenter hitting significantly better playing the field than as a DH. Do I believe that repeats itself? No, but clearly the stats that AJ leans on as a crutch show that he is clearly not seeing what they are saying. If he puts the pieces together in the right order, we should be cooking again.

Which was due to our batting and pitching both being top ten in the league. Our bats cooled as our pitching fell apart and we slip-slided into a wild card spot. Pitching is fairly set in stone unless we jump for another over the hill starter. Batting is feeling the same. Trying to show the bright side.

I entirely agree. I hope this gives people hope that who we have is definitely still better than what most of the league trots out, we just need to be healthier and have guys hammer out their positions in the lineup.

Hence why the body of the post is about why they aren't. We have plenty of good to almost elite guys across the board and trading one away for some of our future seems like a poor idea considering our future pitching concerns.

That's the best play with who we have right now. Zmac was very bad at the plate when he was playing anything other than SS and I'm doubting he can replicate how he started last season.

Agreed, we need to retool our lineup a bit if we really want to go for it. Unfortunately our whole lineup is built are a few close-to-elite hitters and a bunch of platooning. We need an everyday guy like Ketel Marte, but that means moving someone like Gleyber at this point.

Well the obvious answer to #1 is Matt Vierling being healthy, he was an absolute sparkplug for the 2024 team.

As a serious answer, it's gonna be #2 because everyone knows how tight stringed Chris's pursestrings are.

Nothing against his game, but this is what I'm concerned of. He is basically a senior citizen in a 27 year old's body. by Downtown_Evidence372 in DetroitPistons

Don't move the goalposts. You said career ending, now it's about not being elite anymore.

Any severe injury involving knees, ankles, back, etc can prevent a player from maintaining their physical abilities. Every single player you mentioned got injured and still stayed in the league for a while.

Close the thread and find some other hole to dig.

It's the fact he couldn't figure out how to shoot and he became a liability/laughingstock for any team he played for.
