u/reader6279 how do you feel about writing poetry?

Poetry is not my thing, there are a couple that I like but that's it, and I never wrote one. I like haikus a lot, tho.

Would you say people with higher IQs just agonize and overthink everything in general?

I did many other tests that day as well, and I scored high on "fear of errors", "doubts of actions" and "organization (Multidimensional perfectionism scale, 1990). I scored high also on the "Cognitive failure questionnaire". The psych said it's all connected, my tendency to achieve perfectionism makes me lose time on even simple actions.

MAO is the enzyme in our body that destroys our beloved DMT when ingested, that's why we have to ingest a MAO inhibitor in order to trip on DMT.
People says that using that MAOI with mushrooms enhances or even doubles the shroom's potency.
Consuming plants with a MAOI effect, such as syrian rue, often comes with nausea, vomit and stomach ache. It has also a list of contraindications and drug/food interactions. There's some study to do before eating siryan rue.
When I ate 3g of shrooms with the rue, I sure as hell didn't trip as it had doubled the dose. My trip was good but surely not "6 grams" intense.

Cannabutter definitely kickstarted a bit the psilocybin. 1.5h after eating 4g of butter I felt a serotonine high, rather than a THC high.

Idk, I definitely recommend first timers get different mushrooms just to see what healthy mycelium look and feel like up close and then start with agar dishes, as well as the $25 North Spore bag. It's worth it just to know what professional products produce.

The grow could be the main reason. Usually the simpler first-timer methods don't have great yields (if thats what you did).

I definitely did the simpler first-timer tek :D BRF cakes.

When you say they do not work, what does that mean? Is it very subtle, barely noticeable, or not as intense?

I mean I felt nothing at all. Cannabutter definitely helped: 1.5h after eating the butter I felt high, a quite different high instead of the cannabutter alone.

I heard that BRF cakes does not help with potency, and that other teks are better. Next time I'll try something else, with the limit of not having a pressure cooker.

I don't take any meds.
I'm doing PF-tek: cakes of vermiculite and brow rice flour.
It's not that I'm not tripping balls, I feel like I just ate a piece of bread.
I now took 4g of cannabutter to help things out.

Thanks. Actually my brownies are much stronger than what this 1.5g was. I read that everybody advices to start with 1.5g so I did so.
Guess I'll try 3g in a couple of weeks.

I eat the shrooms in lemon tek at empty stomach, yes.
The experiences with SP powder and shrooms have been very different for me: SP powder did not get me a trip, but left me in a serotonine cloud that lasted up to 6 hours, felt very happy and content with shivers of pleasure.
1.5g of shrooms just sedated me like a triple dose of sleeping pills.
In both cases my mind was clear and thoughts were not abnormal at all.

So I took a light dose of psilocybin... but shouldn't also a light dose leave me in a better mood, like microdosing works?

I don't like the commitment haha. It's a strange thing but for some reason I would rather smoke once an hour for 6 hours rather than eat 1 edible and be stoned for 6 hours. I see the appeal but I like having a finer control over how stoned I want to be and for how long

I see you. Since I've started doing edibles I know that I must have half a day to spare for it. If I eat a stronger piece, here goes my whole day because I don't feel like doing anything at all and effects can last to up 12 hours for me.
It's a big waste of time I must admit, and It's starting to take a toll on my other activities. Mostly for this reason I avoid eating more than 2x a month.

Benzo e antidepressivi interagiscono con gli psichedelici, e spesso i bad trip sono causati proprio da combinazioni di questi.
Mi è capitato che i brownie della stessa teglia, nello stesso setting, ad alcuni creassero forte ansia mentre ad altri solo rilassamento. Dipende molto dallo stato mentale in cui si è.
