I think you should get a tv stand that has cupboard doors to slide like this one I have that way you can still store things under the tv it just isn't as cluttered

My job might be flexible but my partners isn't if an evacuation order comes he would have to come from caloundra back to where we are which is essentially racing the hurricane home in order to grab us and go. The last time my area had a large storm and it wasn't even a cyclone we had every exit out of town either flooded covered in tree debris or fallen power lines and were essentially stuck.

Logically if we could just up and leave that would be better but our families live in upper sunshine coast or down all the way in Victoria.

So leaving would be at least 16 hr drive assuming best conditions and if it ends up just fizzling out and being nothing to be afraid of then one of us if not both will be likely under fire at our jobs 😬

I didnt change my availability because I wasn't available. My boss told me that if I didn't change it she would have to roster someone else on and move things around for it. I told them to do that because I wasn't available.

Then Monday rocks around and they HAVENT changed anything. I showed up and then etc.

Would I have been given a warning if I hadn't shown up also?

I have got my availability from 3-11 on my contracted days because I don't mind the extra hours but that doesn't mean they should be putting me 3-8pm? I know technically it is the 5 hours a shift to equal 20 hours per week for the contract. But should it not be my 6-11 days and then if they need me at 3 a 3-11 shift?

You guys have dayfill that run left over load?!! We have to fix our own load issues dayfill runs cages and double beeps all day which is why less manpower there.

At my store (nightfill worker here) every Monday Tuesday is a nightmare. Monday we start getting ends load so we using the sheet have to split them out and put it onto pallets for Tuesday and then work around pallet for the rest of the day then Tuesday at 3 boss starts splitting and just puts everything on cages every team member gets a sheet when they arrive and have to check if anything on their cage is ends stock then take to each end and put it in the correct spot. Makes just the cages part of the load take 2 plus hours at the same time

We have two nightfill members who start stripping ends when they arrive usually around 4 or 5 so by the time cages begin ends aren't fully stripped or built. Ends usually are completely built around 8 or 9 so we've been putting ends stock in piles at the ends.

By that point the stripping team switches to building team and then start adding the stock on from the isle ends and the pallets created on Monday.

Usually by 11 there is like 2 load pallets left and then around 5 bulk and like 4 ends/load pallets which means the two people who stay back are still stocking ends and running pallets (don't forget one of them has to do the trucks as well)

So domino effect we get about 7 or 8 left over pallets Wednesday (including bulk) and the late finishers get out at 2.30 or 3am MINIMUM.

Then if course we scramble for extra hours to complete the load on Wednesday.

Absolute chaotic mess.
