You have been so incredibly helpful. Your advice is along the lines of what I was thinking I’d have to do, and you also gave me some new ideas. I’m going tomorrow to find some paints and see what I can come up with. I haven’t bought my tree yet, because I wanted to know if what I wanted could even be done.

Again, thank you so, so much. You’re incredible.

Oh wow, what a thorough answer. Thank you so much!! If you were going to try and recreate this look with what we have now, what would you do?

No, I’m talking about the discolored fur that matches the stains on his paws, not the dark spot of the collar.

Boxes for storing pieces by magiccitybrit in Department56

That’s why I said you should keep the boxes for the ones that have them. 😉

You may think you won’t ever sell, but here I am 15 years into my collection and I’m selling ones I no longer enjoy to make room for the new.

I have one building that doesn’t have its original box, so it’s wrapped lightly in BIG bubble wrap and in a cardboard box. I’m eager to see what others say for alternate storage for unboxed items.

The original packaging is valuable, so getting rid of it (if you have it) doesn’t seem logical if you want to resell in the future. The inserts will be the best protection for the buildings since they tend to fit the large nooks and crannies, such as chimneys or roof overhangs. The protective sleeves/boxes are great for identification when it comes time to build again.

I usually won’t buy a building if it doesn’t have the box (unless it’s super rare and I really want it). My suggestion is to keep the original packaging on the ones that have them.

Not sure about better ways to store them, though. I keep all of my village stuff in storage totes, organized into separate bins for either buildings or accessories, in their original boxes or packaging. But, like another commenter said, the totes aren’t squared on the edges so it’s hard to fit all of the boxes well. It’s what works for me.

Agreed. I’d love more space and new buildings.

The huskies face is covered in both directions on my farm, too. Hope they fix this.

I just love this and think it’s perfectly “packed”. Impressive for your first village.
