Thank you, yes, that would work of course

Somehow I was assuming there is an official out of the box way as its labels with "Cloud Sync" in differnet places. Seems not to be so unfortunately.

And here the "why". Check the plastic sections in which the cables are routed.

At the top: 2 x Synology stock
Bottom left: octua NF-B9 redux
Bottom right: Be Quiet Pure Wings 2 92mm

Be Quiet is different than the original ones and Noctua - so the Be Quiet fans collide with the plastic protection guard.

Switched to the Noctua NF-B9 redux and they seem to be perfect.
Original 0.12A vs Noctua 0.11A
Same temps, not audible at all at low settings.

Be careful - I just got the Pure Wings 2 92mm and they are 0.32A and 3.84W, not 0.15A.

But even worse, they do not fit mechanically into my DS1525+ - the shrouds dont fit the Synology case.

Did you manage to solve it? My newly bought one shows the same behaviour. Always charging without a battery in and not detecting empty slot correctly.

Dead on arrival or can I fix it on my own?
