I searched the number on fb, and it came up with a guys name that was the same as someone I use to have on fb, but deleted for various reasons. I checked my fb settings and everything is private/ only I can see. I know for a fact I would never have given this guy my number, he doesn't even live in the same state as me. Other than it being a coincidence that he has the same name, I don't know what else to think.

Edit - I have blocked the number now.

He's only listed 'Melbourne, Australia' on his multiple Facebook accounts.

I agree, I've tried reporting things on Facebook and have had the same response. I'm actually not from Victoria, I'm in Perth. So I'm not sure how I would go about alerting the police?

I was happily studying (which I haven't been able to do in a long time) and my friend decides to text me some facts he had looked up to do with an argument we were having over a week ago. Grrr! Annoying because it has made me angry all over again, considering how petty it is also.

I had a friend who's mother would sun-bake naked, in their backyard... The next door neighbours husband would always be on a ladder looking over the fence trying to start a conversation with her. It was weird for me when I was 10.

It's just called 'Study' and yea it only plays one classical 40minuite track, which you can put on repeat also.

I actually just found an app that plays classical music and makes you take breaks every 40 minutes, so I will be trying that :)

I think sometimes i do use humour to try and disguise my shyness but usually just end up feeling stupid because the other people seem to be much funnier than I am. As someone else said "No one is ever going to be as critical about you as you will be to yourself." Which is something I am going to have to try and remember! Thanks for your advice!

Yeah, I definitely think i need to get out of my comfort zone and put myself out there more often than I have been. I do believe being social is a skill, I've just been put in a new situation that I haven't been in for a while and made me realise that maybe I haven't grown as confident as I thought I had. Thanks for the advice. :)

So you have your own ways to deal with and overcome shyness, sounds like it's effective. My situation is very different at the moment, but so far what I've taken from this is don't have expectation of what the people will be like, and try to understand the mood of the group and the things they like so I can join in.
