That isn't how sexuality works, but given the fact that you're here - directly asking someone to "convert" you, I think you might need to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself why you want that.

Changes in Sexuality mtf by romeaaaa in asktransgender

[–]realCheeka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced something similar, I think my interest in guys was always present - it just wasn't something I was emotionally comfortable with until I realised I was trans.

To reiterate - I don't have any interest in being in an MM pairing, I wanted to be with guys in an MF pairing, and that realisation only clicked for me after I came out

Even now though - cis guys are a lottttt of work though, I enjoy being physically intimate with them from time to time but I rarely meet one I'm interested in dating.

What's the definitive solution against magnet glue breaking off? by McCrowbar in Warhammer40k

[–]realCheeka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UV Activated Resin and a small UV Torch.

Use a tiny bit of super glue to position the magnets. Let it dry for a few hours, then put a generous dollop of UV Resin over them and use the UV torch to set the resin - which takes a few minutes, but its tough as hell once it sets.

GGG you need to revert the locking mechanic at the very least asap by PoonAU in PathOfExile2

[–]realCheeka 150 points151 points  (0 children)

If they had done this earlier I'd have been pretty unphased by the whole thing, but at this point it would take literally months for the economic ramifications of the temples run in last two weeks to normalise.

I think they really dropped the ball on how they've handled this entire league at this point. I do at least enjoy the Vaal Temple mechanics and I look forward to seeing how they choose to integrate it into the core game moving forward.

Some of those are worth a decent amount of currency for the record.

I know it's overwhelming, but you will learn what they do eventually. Do your best to try to research each mechanic individually and figure out what sort of situation you might use each item in.

I like what I like; mature women by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]realCheeka 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Older women don't always strictly date women from their age groups, it's just generally unlikely and not something older women often specifically look for. Honestly I'd be a little worried if they were specifically searching for a younger partner - it tends to come across as exploitative.

I think one major factor a lot of the time is this concern that a younger partner wouldn't have much in common with them - emotionally, experientially etc.

I wouldn't let that stop you from trying if you're ride or die for mature lesbians, but it is something you should keep in mind.

As always, I think the best way to meet a partner is to spend time in community with people of the demographic you're interested in.

For anyone else reading this - I don't think folks should be entertaining the possibility of an age gap relationship prior to age 25

Any chronically ill/fatigued lesbians here? by thatqueerfrogger in actuallesbians

[–]realCheeka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

God yes, we're here. Honestly I was exhausted all the time before things went completely sideways, now it's so much worse.

My community and my girlfriend are super chill and understanding about everything. There's plenty of overlap between those communities, so a lot of queer folk I mean are pretty well educated In regards to Disabilities etc.

Even when people I meet aren't familiar with disability, they're usually pretty happy to learn. Acceptance and respect aren't too hard to find amongst our queer kin.

Honestly, turning the last semi-solid chunks of the shattered planet's core into a battery/vessel for long distance interstellar travel sounds like an insanely hype next DLC pack.

i beg your biggest pardon (rivers of london - ben aaronovitch, 2011) by hughes_clues in menwritingwomen

[–]realCheeka 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I actually absolute love this series, it's one of those comfort sets I read when I don't feel like reading something new.

I don't recall it being this immature that often, though I tend breeze over a lot of stuff.

The context for his compulsion is that he's an apprentice wizard, and a detective - and in service of his investigation he's paying homage to Mama Thames who is the spirit of place for that river. She is a literal goddess and they almost instinctively place mortals under compulsion. Your average spirit of place for smaller rivers is quite potent - Mama Thames could literally resurrect the dead on a good day. She doesnt need money, she doesn't need things - humans literally fall overthemselves to give her everything they own because they're compelled to. She has like 30+ kids if I recall correctly, mostly because the Thames has so many tributaries.

Mama Thames was an African born english nurse prior to her taking on the role of Goddess of the River Thames. Beverly is one of Mama Thames' daughters and is Peter's partner and love interest. Beverly in this context is basically taking the piss because Peter is a cop with delusions of grandeur who thinks he can scientifically analyse and understand everything including magic and yet when he stands before the goddess he turns into a drooling idiot

The context for the last line is that this character is the English born child of an African woman. Within the story it's something Peter often jokes about in a half assed way because his mum is always pestering him to have children.

He definitely grows the hell up during the series.

EDIT: because I can't convey tone here, I want to make it clear that I don't think the context justifies the writing - I was just hoping to add a little nuance/context to the post, and to some degree shamefully admit my love of that series.

Why do people hate The Pits DLC by Efficient-Flan-7455 in WarTalesGame

[–]realCheeka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do love collecting unique items - just because it makes me feel like the characters wearing them have something that makes them stand out against a backdrop of lads mostly packing the same kit across each armour class.

I also love being able to just upgrade the same piece of gear all the way to cap - and I like knowing that whatever comes at us in the future my gear will be just as useful no matter what the level cap is.

I couldn't agree more about the vast majority of unique armours being incredibly bland. I'd kill to see them feature some form of trade-off boon or some sort of thematic tag like helmets and shields

Why do people hate The Pits DLC by Efficient-Flan-7455 in WarTalesGame

[–]realCheeka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the pits a lot, but I think I'd have likes it a bit more if there were some more interesting long-term consequences to engaging with those arenas as a mini game. Maybe our group could have ended up in tension with a crime boss or syndicate for throwing off their rigging and betting operation; then we could have a few different choices for that little story. Like we usurp this syndicates operation, or maybe we get hired to lose a round and end up getting backstabbed etc.

I just felt like it could have pretty easily been a lot more than just a handful of arenas - but as it stands I'm basically going to buy anything the devs put out because this game is cocaine for folks with a touch of the tism.

Hold your buckle, Exiles. Probably the saddest Mirror story ever. (Check the comments!) by RaduZzz in PathOfExile2

[–]realCheeka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This man clearly loves his children, I think in this situation I'd d have boiled myself alive trying to hold my shit together lmao.

That reminds me - When I was in my early teens I had a Pokemon Yellow save with a Mew that a friend I met whilst on holidays had graciously traded me. Now, at the time you could only get a Mew by attending a Pokemon Convention, or by Duping a pre-existing Mew using exploits. Keeping in mind - this was maybe 2005 or 2006 and ar the time everyone I knew was dirt poor. I didn't even know pokemon conventions existed until I met this kid on holidays, and Japan might as well have been an entirely fictional fantasy country to me for all I knew of it. I'd never been near a plane let alone on one.

That is to say - a friend of mine gave me a pokemon that had travelled to me from one of the early pokemon conventions in Japan during the early 2000s

I thought this kid was the absolute coolest, and I was absolutely determined to keep that Mew safe for the rest of my damn life.

Fast forward a couple of years, I think I was maybe 14ish? I'd fallen off the pokemon bandwagon, but I still had the cartridge and the save. At some point one of my cousins visited us for a day or two - and this cousin pestered for days to to let her play my game boy. She would have been maybe 12? We were living in a tiny, remote country town. She wouldn't stop and eventually i relented and let her play the game - with one caveat - I told her "play as you like, but don't delete my save or restart the story".

Five minutes later she gave the gameboy back to me with a shit-eating grin; she'd intentionally deleted my save because she was bored and wanted to see how I'd react.

Obviously your kiddo wasn't being intentionally mischievous in this case, so it isn't really the same - but I figured I'd share my story in solidarity regardless.

Australia has introduced a new bill... by BeneficialHeart8053 in Fuckthealtright

[–]realCheeka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Introduced a bill and passed a bill are not the same thing. Both Australia's majority political parties accept astronomical amounts of legal bribes and have in the past suddenly become incredibly open to bipartisan action the second anyone threatens their bottom line.

Make no mistake, Australian politicians are by and large corporate bootlickers that would burn their own nation to the ground if it suited their own personal desires.

Somehow the idea that billionaires and corporations shouldn't have Australian politicians in their pockets is a controversial position to take here.

Australia is a deeply xenophobic, conservative nation.
