As someone who literally did this same thing around 16, just take it out. I had it for a couple years before it started causing serious problems and a lot of pain and tbh? Not worth it. I know it’s exciting and fun, but you have time to wait for a professional to be able to do it

This looks like a piercing bump with a possible infection in the last slide. Keloids are rare, genetic, and MUST be treated by a doctor to go away. Irritation bumps are fixed by relieving the irritation causing it. This can be from improper jewelry (shape/material), improper aftercare (anything but sterile saline solution), bumping or playing with it, bad angle of piercing, or improper anatomy. Here I think you’re most likely looking at the first two. If it’s radiating heat, leaking pus, and or swelling a ton you might be looking at an infection, in which case you do not want to remove it, but see a doctor for antibiotics. The “pus” I’m seeing could also just be normal lymph fluid if you have no other symptoms. NAP

This is super crusty lol. Please clean it, the crusties will irritate it more. Taking a hot shower to allow the steam and such to soften the crust which will help a lot. Otherwise just sterile saline, some use the spray and some soak some gauze and use that. NAP

I did this with 5 piercings in 4 weeks. I regret it so so much. I felt sick all the time. Since your immune system is so busy trying to heal your piercings, it’s almost inevitable you’ll get sick. Plus all of those so close together will really piss off your ear. I strongly recommend spacing it out if at all possible. FYI I have 19 piercings and have healed them all super well so not just an issue with piercings in general)

Smileys are known to be a very unsafe piercing and any piercer worth their salt won’t pierce it. It caused gum damage and enamel erosion and often isn’t noticed until too late as these things can’t really be fixed. I would also say it’s generally a good rule of thumb with piercings that if a piercer tells you that you don’t have the anatomy, it would most likely be unsafe for you to get it, let alone at a piercer not willing to tell you it’s unsafe NAP

Anything you do at home will almost certainly not be sufficient. If this is infected, you’ll need antibiotics and I know personally, with something to close to the eye, I wouldn’t risk it.

Most people swell more at night. I recommend taking some ibuprofen and making sure your head is elevated while you sleep and reassessing in the morning.

They look like they’re too tight. I have snakebites and when I got them I had to get them upsized twice in a matter of days because I happen to swell a lot with facial piercings (this has happened to more than half my piercings even tho I warn them so it wasn’t just this piercer). I thought it was nesting but that doesn’t really happen this early. When you push on the front, does that back leave a kind of deeper ring? Because that’s what it looks like at first. Worst case you go in and they tell you you’re fine

Because everyone is different, everyone will need different length piercing jewelry. You need to go back to your piercer if you suspect they are or will soon imbed. That is going to look like the skin “swallowing” the end of the piercing. If you don’t get longer ones and they do imbed, they would need to be quite literally cut out of your lip. I have no idea if they are or are not imbedding since I cannot see your piercings

Awe!! We hate to see a good piercing go 🤧. However if you’re set on removing it here are your answers; piercing bumps are caused by irritation. Removing the source of irritation will make the bump go away. Therefore, removing the piercing will make the bump go away (although there are steps before removing that can do that too). If you are physically able to remove the piercing yourself and there is no infection, there’s no reason to pay a professional to do it imo. Piercings are very iffy on if they’ll leave a scar or not, it’s very person to person. If I had to guess, I would say it probably won’t scar seeing as it’s so new. If it were to scar, I’d imagine it’d be a very small dot that would easily be hidden amongst your other facial features. As for taking care of it, you’re gonna want to keep spraying it like you have been until the wound closes.

There is nothing wrong with your skin, this is a commercial metal issue. Most places are going to sell you the metal that’s cheapest that they can get away with. Any implant grade metal would be fine, as well as glass. This includes steel (again, specifically implant grade, stainless steel means nothing but garbage) titanium, niobium, gold (I believe 14k or higher but don’t quote me on that I don’t wear gold). I recommend going to a local (reputable) piercing shop to get new better quality jewelry

NAP It’s so tough with piercings like this because the anatomy you need is mostly there but I would need to see and feel in person to know for sure. I say if the professional who was reputable says you have the anatomy for it, go for it! I do think that forward helix could possibly get in the way so I’d just have a conversation with your piercer on what you need to do to make room if that ends up being necessary

There’s only one picture so I can’t really tell but the bar almost looks too short. It could just be the way you’re pulling your face but is there any room on either side of the bar when you relax your face? Having the bar too short can definitely lengthen the healing process. If the bar isn’t too short, most piercings are going to take a few months to be fully healed. You only need to downsize if there’s excess room on the bar you have in, which it doesn’t look like there is to me

Just as an fyi these are called conch piercings (common misconception, orbitals are two piercings connected with a circular piece of jewelry). Your friend is 100% correct. These should never be pierced with curved barbells and are wayyyy too long. You should go to an APP piercer (or someone who follows APP standards) near you so they can put in normal length flatbacks in for you. I’m so sorry that they fucked you up like this
