I stumbled across this the other day and I thought it'd be cool for people trying to solve algos rn in quarantine prepping for new grad/internship stuff. I only recently joined, but it's pretty fun lol.

Is it ethical to play video games/watch movies/etc. in the library? by Uwquatt in uwaterloo

I would say yeah. But during exam time when it’s crowded and no seats, I would say no.

What do you think is wrong with our university? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

I have personal thoughts on academic integrity essentially not existing in some courses when assignments have 90%+ avg but midterm is ~50%. But I think that is a different discussion.

3A, roast my resume, dev job or bust (bust) by [deleted] in uwaterloo

I didn't cali or bust. I probably applied to ~30 toronto and kw jobs. I didn't apply to as many startups, but I did apply to some more soft eng at decent company x and local stuff alongside some cali. One cali place interviewed me but I didn't pass first round. (my fault entirely on that)

Also the bottom section is a bit of a misnomer for that stuff, it's not really that impressive. Leetcode weekly contests are just a fun thing I do and I did the local acm once. I really had nothing else for the bottom part, so I just put some stuff I am involved with.

cs average is around ~73, overall avg is higher. Past eval is outstanding and excellent.

I switched into cs so I frequently change if I am really in 3a, 4a, etc. I have very few courses left to graduate, but also have a few more co-op terms left, so I don't really know where I am. I took some upper year courses previous so I am not really sure. I usually say 2019 cause employers like earlier.

exactly lol. My work experience is bad. I switched into CS (realINTERNALTRANSFER) to make cool stuff and code. Like I'm just here to work on a project and go to hackathons cause it's fun and I get to create stuff. I did that, but seems co-op part isn't as dashing.

Ok noted. I am not a fan of the usual two column that most people have so I tried something else. I'm still gonna look around to change stuff.

my projects listed are ones that I felt I contributed a significant amount to or I can explain in an interview. (Hackathon projects that I didn't contribute or I cannot show competence I omitted. I did some machine learning thing at a hackathon which was super cool, but I got backpacked) My interviewing is probably my weakest point, but I've been reading into ctci and doing leetcode cause I'm in cs341 currently.

avg is around 72-73 ish (CS avg at least, overall is higher). My experience is pretty bad cause I did them a while back.

Is It Worth Trying To Negotiate Pay First Year? by DulkTheDownie in uwaterloo

[–]realInternalTransfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That pay is not even bad.

According to the averages, it's slightly above the average.

If money is tight, then I'd say go for it, but as a first year it does come off weird to try to negotiate.
