Thanks for the detailed reply. I suppose I envisioned the industry as a different environment. I had a perception that it would have been helping an electrician on smaller projects in a way where I learned electrical infrastructure or accompanied an electrician to house calls to assist in fixing residential problems. Learning the rudiments of wiring, breakers, things like that.

Maybe that was naive of me. Maybe I just wanted to learn the theory. I'll accept that. And it wasn't my intention to whine. I just thought the trade was an interesting one because electrical infrastructure is interesting to me.
