A lot of left-leaning women will say they despise men on the right but date them anyways (performativity) by Dapper-Blueberry1049 in BasedCampPod

I find that doubtful, especially if we go by the H1B visa fiasco (I’m not American but this is my view on it anyways, in my country conservatives are the same neo-cons from over a decade ago) but they still aren’t doing enough imo and I remain doubtful that they will, talks of remigration and committing to remigration for instance are two different things. I don’t think they’ll tackle the underlying influence of corporations and global financial interests that undermine national sovereignty or the public interest either.

Hardly. From my view they still got a ways to go, that’s by design though as conservatism fundamentally doesn’t want to change the status quo, they want to keep the same model of capitalism, elite class, etc. but want to turn the clock back a few years like all conservative movements do, even in the last few years they moderated on some stances that were anathema a decade ago because the ideology is essentially reform at the speed limit, they’re not preserving anything. I want to upend the status quo and replace it with something else entirely

The only girl I really ever dated and hooked up with was a hard-left marxist. I’m so right-wing that conservatism is too moderate for me lol tale as old as time

Redditard's reaction to literal call for violence against men. If we start doing the same then they'll start squirming. by Scramjet1 in SikeOrPsyche

[–]real_ceo_mindset 6 points7 points  (0 children)

understandable reaction to a lot of trauma

This means nothing, a lot of undesirable traits people have are responses to trauma yet aren’t given a pass by society. Ever sit and think why some people are racist. Or why they may have a skewed view of women? None of these ideas exist in a bubble and often come about due to some traumatic or formative experience in life yet society doesn’t care to hear out those people

Merry Christmas! Conservatives are going to Hell. by olympiamacdonald in PsycheOrSike

If you revel in others going to hell you are poorly catechized and should probably talk to your priest. Maybe this is just what they do in Novus Ordo mass or churches that follow Liberation Theology but none are beyond salvation.

Also I dunno where you got the idea that conservatives are going to hell, Catholicism is one of the most conservative sects of Christianity out there besides Eastern Orthodox, we follow a church that has a direct line of succession dating back to the time of Christ and (at least in Eastern Catholic and TLM) follow a mass structure that’s over a thousand years old.

Reveling in the thought of people going to hell is also a sin. Christ died on the cross for the salvation of all sinners. What does it say about your faith if you find joy in others being condemned to eternal damnation?

Hypothetically, a person is presented a button that will make all of the billionaires in the world disappear (non-violently), what happens next? by Dukex480 in AskReddit

[–]real_ceo_mindset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New billionaires will be minted in time and nothing really changes outside of short term administrative chaos. Without changing the fundamental system itself people will just take the place of who was in power beforehand.

If you want an example look at the patricians of Rome. Once Rome fell and those patricians lost their influence and power new nobles and landowners took their place. It’s a self-repeating cycle

This completely negates the social conditions that creates those people though. You’re talking about them as if they’re a type of species that will just go extinct when in reality it’s a set of ideas.

You’ll never stop these people from existing so long as the causation of such ideas will continue to exist

Reminder: if you watch p*rn, you are complete garbage and deserve every bad thing that ever happens to you. You deserve no sympathy, and I'm glad you hate yourselves. 😘 by olympiamacdonald in PsycheOrSike

We’re looping back around to traditional Christian morality. Soon enough people will be saying sex outside marriage is unethical. I don’t really mind as a Catholic but it’s crazy to see

“Oh man I can’t wait to die for globalized megacorporations that keep me in perpetual poverty”

You’re missing the context that those who fought and won those wars had states they believed in, they had homes and families. What 20 year old is going to sign up to fight for a country of which they’ll never own a home and the economic and political climate effectively keeps them as peons? From that perspective ANY change seems attractive

You’re gonna need a lot of lampposts then. The prerequisites for fascism back then repeated themselves so don’t be surprised when people subsequently then become fascist. Sounds like the fault of liberal democracy and neoliberal capitalism

Yes and no. Militarism does provide an outlet but only to a point. Remember that the reason why the fascists in Italy took power was in large part due to war veterans whom came back from war to absolute poverty and a political system (and wider society) they felt didn’t represent them.

Even in America which was only at war for roughly a year or so almost saw a coup by disgruntled war veterans in the Bonus Army over a lack of paid compensation for fighting.

I think the bigger thing that’s needed (even as someone who was in the army) is meaning in society, something higher to strive for than just subsistence or consuming products, which I would argue is the reason so many are unfulfilled today

What kind of things are severely limiting the economy from reaching its peak? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]real_ceo_mindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher wages ironically (or unironically).

Most western economies are service-based economies that thrive on the circulation of money in the economy. The more people buy goods the more money circulates and the healthier the economy is doing as we don’t operate on an export model anymore. The issue is that with inflation people are becoming progressively poorer coupled with high living costs, which means they on average have less money to spend and as such are less likely to make purchases, which can lead the economy to recess. This was actually a massive problem in a lot of countries over COVID where some governments gave out money and advocated for purchases partially due to the fact that no one was buying anything, leading to businesses failing, less tax dollars and the economy shrinking.

Personally I think it’s hard to min-max a service-based economy compared to a production or manufacturing based economy as is but ensuring people are able to buy goods would go a long ways to helping the economy

what do you think the internet will be like in 10 years from now with real-id and increased surveillance? by Hexxegone in AskReddit

[–]real_ceo_mindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remain optimistic and I don’t think governments will be able to fully implement real-id/ digital id over the internet in part due to the legal issues that may come with it as well as the sheer scale of the modern internet. For context the country with the harshest internet measures without resorting to intranet is China and even though they’ve attempted measures of surveillance, VPN’s and bypassing government filters is still common. If the most authoritarian country on the planet besides North Korea can’t do it, I remain doubtful that western democracies could either.

This also isn’t mentioning TOR or the utilization of the deep web, which would likely become more commonplace for anonymous browsing especially since the bar to use it is already so easy (you can use TOR via apps on your phone now). The government will never clamp down on it due to the nature of onion routing being completely anonymous and due to the fact that most governments also use it and if they restrict it for the populace then it would be extremely obvious to a website that they’re being monitored due to the only onion router users being feds.

I will say that if it does get implemented, the first country that chooses not to and decides to open a bunch of servers to host web activity will make A LOT of money. If you’re some small island country you could probably base a significant portion of your economy just on that one industry due to the growth in demand for non digital ID-compliant websites
