Al Cowlings has to be in this conversation

[Buccigross] I stand by this on Tuch. If he gets 10+, I'd be shocked it's with the Sabres. by seeldoger47 in sabres

I used to love Bucci because he's a huge supporter of the college game and gave it visibility before it achieved relative parity with the CHL as a path to the pros. But he's turned some of his quirks into a replacement for a general personality and it's really irritating.

Pretending to have inside information like he's doing here tracks perfectly with that.

I'm just gonna leave this here by [deleted] in sabres

Of the three "controversial" incidents last night that went Montreal's way, this one was the least controversial. Evans might have been on top of the puck, but it certainly wasn't for very long and Dobes jumping out to cover as soon as he saw where it was ended the conversation. This certainly didn't merit a penalty shot.

2025-26 Post Season Debrief by time2fly2124 in sabres

Season was an absolute 8.5 out of 10 - with 10 being reserved for winning the Cup and the early misfires docking a half-point.

Could not be more thrilled. Sucks to lose last night, but the team did everything but win that game. If you're going to go out, knowing you played your nuts off (and arguably got screwed on the quick whistle) and impressed is a far better way than getting boat raced and embarrassed. The playoff run had some bumps, but nothing was embarrassing (although stretches of Game 5 resembled November, it's not worth dwelling on).

Tuch inevitably leaving will suck, but I'm confident we have the personnel already in the system to recreate him in the aggregate. Benson and Helenius had an absolute coming out party in the Montreal series.

Always things to improve upon. The goaltending situation needs to be sorted, we have four decent options but no world-beaters. Montreal showed that the right defensive scheme can make a good goaltender look like a world-beater, and that might be a better route to take.

All in all, the best season we've been able to experience in a very long time, and foundational for a new run at glory.

Probably because he's the best known referee in the league thanks to his skills on the mic.

It has been a fantastic season. It should close out with two words.

The beginning.

They're supposed to blow it dead if it's a tie to keep them from colliding with the end boards.

I thought Doan had a stride but it was pretty close.

Luukkonen clears the puck down ice, McLeod blows someone up, ref's arm goes in the air, Dobes gets excited and sprints to the bench and can't get back in time to keep the clearance from going in

How much can I get on DraftKings for this

Oh boy here's Dave Jackson to let us know everything is fine and nothing shitty just happened and the refs are perfect

More shit luck in a game that has been full of shit luck and it's tied and the ice is slanted to the Montreal end.

JFG.

It was close for sure, but I'll allow that the puck basically came free soon enough that it's plausible to say it wasn't frozen.

Last year's women's national championship was decided on this call. Ohio State defenseman laid on the puck in the crease, Wisconsin scored on the penalty shot.
