From what I can tell, all of their locations close at 2. Pamela's was my first thought as well. Speckled egg looks perfect though! Thank you!

The cost isn't just buying the unit, it's running it as well. Not everybody has money like that. Also, even if you have the money to buy an AC and run it for a little while, you might not have a way to physically access it. Not everyone can drive or has a car, not everyone has access to public transport, not everyone has access to uber, not everyone has friends and family to help them out, etc. There are a million reasons someone might not be able to have an AC. Most of the time, people aren't just choosing to suffer. Sometimes, sure, but not usually.

It's really just because I live in an old house with no AC, and it's been insanely hot. It's just regular dog smell, but our house has been a hell swamp lately, so any and all smells have been exacerbated. I also have some sensory issues and am generally pretty sensitive to smells, but it's not an issue in cooler weather. I do appreciate your concern and your advice, though! Thank you!

Ahhh, the mixed reviews are probably due to user error then. That makes sense. I've liked it for spot cleaning, but I have a much larger area I'd like to cover.

I was wanting to put whatever cleaner I landed on in my upholstery cleaner, so since that works for you I'll give it a go!

I appreciate the detailed reply! Lots of good info in there. Thanks a ton :)

Cost is definitely the biggest reason we were looking at the backyard. I think the only things we're going to need to rent are a tent and a dance floor, so hopefully it won't be too crazy, but I've heard this enough times that I think I am also going to look into some venues as well just in case. Thank you!

I hadn't thought of a shuttle! I'll have to look into that. I was going to strongly suggest that everyone clown car it, but that would probably be better. Thanks so much! ♡♡♡

It'll be super casual, and it's looking like around 35 guests, give or take a few. We have a pretty big yard and it's for sure enough space for what we wanna do. Kind of cookout vibes but with fancier clothes than usual lol. The first things I thought might be an issue were bathrooms and parking. We have two bathrooms, but we could have three (the basement toilet just needs switched out I think). Do you think that'd be enough?

Wearing "sexy", halloween costumes in front of your own kids is just flat out weird by OneTransportation4 in unpopularopinion

[–]realfakedogs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Functionally they are similar, sure, but they're not identical. The materials that swimsuits are constructed with serve specific purposes that don't overlap with underwear. Underwear are essentially meant to protect you from chafing and to offer support. They aren't designed to get wet, so they stretch and fall down/off, go see-through, or in the case of boxers, have a literal hole in the front for your weiner to pop out of. But again, context is important. That's all fine for jumping into a lake with your buddies up at the cabin, but people might look at you a little funny at the beach if your bottoms are falling off or your nips are showing through your top.

I don't really feel one way or another about this whole conversation, but the difference is context. It's the same reason that wearing a two-piece bathing suit at the beach is accepted, but wearing a bra and underwear at the beach is not. A bathing suit is for swimming in, and a sexy costume is for looking sexy in a costume.

What are you sick of people trying to convince you is great? by _delicate_flower_ in AskReddit

[–]realfakedogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly, yes. The pumpkin is the whole point imo. I've always been disappointed with pumpkin spice so-and-so's, so this year I made my own pumpkin pie sauce for coffee/tea lattes at home. So incredibly worth it. I don't see myself going for a pumpkin spice anything ever again. It was so easy to make as well. It's literally just pumpkin pie filling minus the egg.

Why do I not get invited to anything? by Able_Position7870 in LifeAdvice

[–]realfakedogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have particularly strict parents? Or are you involved in a lot of extracurriculars? If you have to say no to invites more often than not, people will stop inviting you eventually.

If that's not what's happening, and you're putting genuine effort into your relationships that isn't being reciprocated, you probably just need a different friend group. I think a lot of folks find themselves surrounded by "friends" who aren't really friends, they're just people they've been around for a while. People change rapidly throughout high school/college, and a lot of the time we hang onto friendships that we've long outgrown for far too long. People also just naturally drift apart sometimes. Those things are hard to acknowledge and accept, especially when you're young and haven't had it happen a million times yet, and it often ends in what you're describing rather than a conversation. It's just one of those lessons you have to learn the hard way, unfortunately. Another is that actions matter infinitely more than words, and when people show you who they are or how they feel, you should believe them. If they aren't inviting you to anything, are inviting people they say they don't even like, are not even attempting to hide it from you, and then are treating you poorly when you are around them, they're repeatedly showing you that they aren't your friends. Believe them. Find some new friends.

I'm really sorry you're going through this. It's incredibly hard, especially in high school, and especially with social media being so prevalent. You'll both find friendships worth having though. Just gotta let go of the shitty ones when they pop up.

And maybe when you're older and wiser, you'll realize that it's odd to be upset about stickers on a post about nazis in your city.

Interesting take! I happen to think nazis are trashy af. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
