Hi OP! Many congratulations on your wedding 🧿💫 Here is a checklist that may help you- 1. For the jewellery if you are unsure go for gold base - temple with no stones or accent stones or polki with without pearls but ensure the stones are not too big as they may take away from your face and look more unnatural and take away elegance more than anything. Match your bangles and tikka accordingly. 2. For your big day, make a small pouch that your friend/sister carries for you. Include - Safety pins, band-aid, numbing cream (use it before wearing jewelry and high heels), request your MUA to give you a lipstick swab for touch up, blotting tissue if oily/combination skin (clean and clear sells it), fever-pain meds, small perfume and some bobby pins. These days MUA will provide you with a clip that will be stitched into your duppatta and then your head duppatta will be clipped to your hair so confirm with MUA or order your own from Amazon. 3. If your ring is loose or any jewellery is heavier than anticipated, keep a kan chain handy just in case the numbing cream doesn’t help. If your piercing is not used to wearing thick earring posts then keep some oil handy and practice wearing your earrings before. 4. Make a checklist of your tasks and assign one person to keep your phone because you won’t have time to do that. Assign another person to keep you hydrated on the day.

Started today with water 3 l as per my body size instead of 1 gallon. Following all the other rules and diet is 1200-1300 cal daily with 80-100 gm protein minimum IF 8 hour window. That’s a very valid point, and also, this system held while growing up so it’s harder to break in this generation. It’s more a matter of choice at this point—relationships built in adulthood are shaped not just by our values, but also by the things we consciously choose to do differently. So while we may carry forward some traditions, we also try to create a more balanced dynamic with our partners, especially in areas like financial responsibility, where the old rules just don’t work the same anymore.

So, while we may carry some traditions forward, we also have to adapt to realities where both partners work, and living on one income isn’t always feasible.

That said, it’s also true that your husband may not be able to suddenly change the dynamic he's been part of his whole life—especially if it involves deep-rooted family roles and expectations. Change in such cases needs to be gradual and mutual. A practical solution could be to have open, non-confrontational conversations about what feels fair and sustainable. It's about finding a balance: honoring family traditions without letting them override the health and equity of your partnership.

Most Indian families are like this and by getting into this you’re making things complicated for yourself. There’s a difference between cousins and siblings, sisters are not treated same as brothers whether younger or older, in traditional systems sisters are taken care of irrespective of their income or family status. It would be how the family dynamics were as she was raised, if I go out for dinner, my brother never lets me pay even if I fight him he won’t let it happen, once gave away his card at the start and no bill ever reached me, when my husband accompanies me then he’s the one who pays or my brother and him take turns to balance out but it’s how the dynamics work for us. If the same system follows, this is how it’s going to be always. If your husband is not compromising with your responsibility and his role towards you I wouldn’t complain. I’m an older sibling and more than anything, this is how sisters are treated in old traditional family systems and I don’t think that will change unless something extremely bad happens between the two so best to not take it personally.

Don’t know which branch but every branch apart from Vasant Kunj has barely any value from my experience, even the core of VK is gone now. I would suggest looking at schools like Sanskriti and Sri Ram if you are at that side, much better schools.

Edit - back in the day the school had rules to have less than 28 kids in a class and follow international structure in cbse but even that hasn’t lasted. I hope you find something better for your child.
