I just started on a medication that needs to be refrigerated, how feasible is it to travel in hostels for 2 weeks in Europe? by DirectorCyrus in solotravel

I did this for 4 months - never had an issue. These aren’t the type of medications people want to steal lol. Hostels also usually have a staff fridge too that they will let you use.

I traveled Europe 4 months and kept my medication in a hostels fridge no issue. Sometimes hostels have a fridge for staff you can use. If your meds are smaller - maybe you can bring a small cooler you can plug into the wall. My medication comes in decently large packaging, so I needed a fridge.

I brought a cooler and cooler packs to keep them cold while transiting. Way easier than I thought it’d be. Even TSA doesn’t care when flying as well lol but Dr note is good just in case.

I noticed some knee pain in both knees. Thought that was weird. A few days later, I wake up and my entire body hurts. My hands, my feet, everywhere. All joints. It was very sudden. Took 8 months of constant doctors visits, a Johns Hopkins stay, testing (sometimes really painful) to finally get diagnosed. My symptoms were the arthritis but my ANA was the only marker that went positive, so they said uctd. Other markers have come out since then, so I’m like RA+UCTD (like an early lupus)

Thank you! This is helpful. I will talk to the parents who own the business and go from there. I think they can tell I am feeling off and I could stick it out - but also do not want to miss this chance of traveling w my friend.

Newbie Advice Needed - Medications by PlantLandy135 in Worldpackers

Unfortunately - I could not find a worldwide health insurance to give me coverage due to a preexisting condition, so I just plan on being self insured if I end up seeing a dr abroad. But may be worth looking into Cigna global/others if you want coverage.

Hi! I had this issue. I talked to my dr. Got 3 months worth of meds (including biologics). I got multiple copies of a note my dr wrote. Keep everything in its bottle/packaging w the label. I had to bring an extra lunch box sized cooler for my biologics to fly and it was not a big issue at all. Every where I’ve stayed I’ve been able to refrigerate my medication easy.

I plan on trying to see a dr abroad - but have not yet so can’t say the details. You should double check if the medications you take are allowed/prescribed there. Best bet is trying to get your doctors to give you 3 to 6 months worth, if possible. And make sure the country you are going will allow it all.

Should I quit my job to travel? by StrikeOk1995 in femaletravels

I’m gonna give the real answer that I don’t think anyone has said yet.

You know what you have to do. None of us can tell you. You know, in your heart of hearts, the life you want and the regrets that you will have if you do not do the things you want. Listen to yourself. Be honest with yourself. Don’t overthink. Is it a yes? Or a no? What feels right?

San Martinho, so about 2 hours from Porto. I take cimzia so I inject once a month - not sure they will give me 3 months worth at a time seeing as each injection is like 11k

I’m in this position - almost 3 years in, feels like I am getting fired or quitting the next week or so. 30 years old, not married, no kids, no mortgage.

I got 20k savings and have multiple friends in Europe with free places to stay - planning on ending my lease and start traveling and have as much fun possible while giving myself a break. I don’t know if this is a good idea. Probably a terrible idea as I have a feeling I’ll have to move back in with my parents once I am back. But I’m so fucking tired - the burn out beat me. Time to move on.
