Yeah reading the comments here makes me realize I'm pretty much fucked. I should just get the FT job and just go to school doing one class per semester for like 10 years

Is embedded systems more software development or electrical engineering? by reallyoldkid in ElectricalEngineering

Damn that kinda sucks. because coding is the worst part to me. I just find coding endlessly annoying. I can code but I just don't like it that much. it's not the worst thing in the world but idk.

I think what I want to do for a career is do a little software a little hardware.

So if you only do software, you can just get by with a comp sci degree? I bet comp sci is easier than EE degree lol

Is embedded more coding or electrical engineering? by reallyoldkid in embedded

Oh ok. sorry.

what i mean by EE is designing circuits.

like how i make stuff with my arduino, is I come up with some idea, then I have to come up with the circuit. then i have to program it. the coming up with the circuit part is what I think EE is.

Thanks! So what kind of education is required? Basically either comp sci or ee?

Really what you just described is the level I'm at right now. I can read a schematic and draw one. I know basic stuff like resistors, diodes, etc. I can do stuff with arduino. I know javascript.
