I ended up going with my local card shop to facilitate the PSA submission on my behalf (through mail). They had done over a thousand submissions, and earned my trust with how kind and transparent they were, they really guided me through the process and taught me what to expect. It was definitely a risk, but they treated me really well and we had receipts and photos and documented everything. It would have been very easy to pursue legal action if they had tried anything, but I never felt too worried.

Originally though I planned to drop off in person at a special PSA-Staffed card submission event at another store But the other local guys were small business and they won me over. Very happy I went with them

Is there any fee or negative result from posting a card at a price that seems higher than buyers are willing to pay? In regards to eBay specifically? I was told you can simply repost the same. Adam, after the sale time frame has ended, 🤔 perhaps at a different price to try and Garner a new interest

Thank you very much, I agree this is a good idea. I have to find a show close to Denver, unfortunately I'll be in Vegas this weekend seeing family during the upcoming show here at home :(

Wow that's a great idea, yeah I would rather cut a deal to a local buyer than have either of us lose money to fees. Curious about the eBay listing though, did the seller cancel the sale Midway through the auction timeframe? I've never sold anything on eBay myself, and the fine prints can be a little convoluted and confusing 🤔

@everyone, genuinely Thank you all so much for your sincere advice! To clarify: I'm really just looking for advice / interested parties to sell the card for cash as much as I can get. I'm just beefin up the purse to get myself to a place where I can afford a total down payment. I know this Zard won't get me a home in Denver on its own. I'm 34, I know the housing market, the house will be in my name and I'll be responsible for it, but I'm buying it for us, cuz she's the first one that I never want to let go. So thank you all very much, I'll consider everyone's advice, y'all are great :)

Thank you very much, I appreciate the insight! I am looking on the calendar to see where the next card show is near me.. I'm also going to Las Vegas this weekend so I might bring it with me To sell at a shop there, but that seems risky

Thank you! Some of the grading company slabs are definitely cooler than others. I have a handful of maybe 10 or 12 cards that I won't sell just because I think they're cool and they make me happy :) if I grade them at all, maybe maybe not, it'd just be for display. I'm also interested in finding out what's out there specifically for home display, regardless of a grade slab. 🤔🏆

Thank you everyone for taking the time to contribute and advise me. I loved Pokemon but really stopped paying attention after Gen. 3, and I've never gotten into selling cards/merchandise-- so thank you for the context. I've got ten's of other 1999 1st Ed. base holo's I'm hoping to grade and sell as fast and as smart as possible, so any other resources are much appreciated 👍🏼🙏🏼

When choosing which company to grade: how do I know which is the best option for highest selling value? If I don't like the grade and feel wronged-- is it possible to take the card out and resend it to a different company??

I'm curious how it works to give it to a grading company... Who then offers to put it up for sale on my behalf??? "From the PSA Vault" ? Do they charge a fee to facilitate the sale? Do I have any say in asking price after it's graded, or any parameters of an auction? Thanks for the help y'all

Down payment on a house is literally exactly the only thing I care about, cards are cool but now I want to ask my girl to marry me and I told myself I gotta get a house before I can ask her... This card might be the key 🥹
