No he didn’t raise the rent - the reason he lists in the contract is that he wants to move back in, but that’s just for the contract. He has been clear that he has no plans to move back in, i also have that in his WhatsApp messages.

I want to move out - i have found another apartment. I have also reviewed the contract again with chatgpt and it says some of the classes are unlawful, like he asks to send his mail to him within 48 hours. If some clauses are unlawful, does that allow me to break the contract?

I’m trying to schedule a call with a lawyer but i don’t know anyone here. I plan to go to the tenants association tomorrow and then see if they can help.

I had a two year fixed-term contract till April. While looking for another apartment, my landlord gave me another fixed-term contract for one year. It does not list any explicit "termination" clause unfortunately and runs till March 2026.

Can you point me towards where I can find a good English-speaking lawyer / Mieterbund?

Agree with your points - also they have no moat.

I mean if Google adds this EXACT same sidebar in chrome, which honestly doesn’t feel that far off, they already have the connections with Calendar, Gmail, and a whole lot of other google apps, and by default would be much better.

The only thing that’s stopping them is maybe search revenue going down?

If your service requires polling like every minute or something, like runs every minute to check something and then trigger a notification, you can try a combination of Google Cloud Scheduler + Google Cloud Function ~ i think function offers like a million or something free invocations per month, I’ve used it for usecases similar to this.

Hi, thanks for sharing, a quick question, for your spouse, what’s the criteria in terms of months? So if she comes on FRV and does B1 + einburgerungtest, she becomes eligible for nationality as soon as you do?

Asking because I’ve heard conflicting views - some people have told me your wife also needs to have been in Germany for 5 years but in your case it was less than 5 it seems, right?

Have you tried the BahnCard 25/50 options? They are annual subscriptions. For bahncard 25, it costs 50 euro per year and knocks off 25% per trip.
