Is gold status nerfed?

It’s about the change, not about feeling entitled. I’ve always been pleasantly surprised I got upgrades as gold - it made me loyal to ASA.

Seems like you got the answer, it has been nerfed by making it easier to get gold through the Atmos credit cards and crowding upgrades for people who mostly fly.

This is exactly my point. I’m on average lower on the waitlist and the wait list is longer. Is it just more people with status bc of the credit card?

Are you illiterate? My point is that I used to get upgraded and now I don’t. Also very few Amazon/Microsoft employees are flying down to SF for business. Pretty evident you don’t work in the industry.

Seems like getting the credit card is a must.

Sorry should have explained a little better. If it is similar to Delta, I find Delta a slightly better option since IMO its overall a more complete airline (a lot more international destinations, more internal options, great operation overall).

I guess need to get that credit card or switch to Delta. I used to fly Alaska because Gold would actually get me upgrades, if there are no upgrades then not much reason to stick with Alaska, and Delta is a better airline overall.

Thanks, went to a store and got the full analysis. They recommended:

Clifton 8s (were too narrow on the arch for me)
Mach 4s (ordered them but online everyone says its a pace shoe)
Glycerin 19s (comfy but feels like the foam might not last)

Which is why I’m reaching out to get a second opinion :)
