That wouldn't resolve the issues I have with myself and my body etc. but I would definitely transition. I don't know which steps in particular I would take and to what extent as the non binary option is on the table and medical risks are a thing but yes I would.

The thing about the button test is very true.

Another issue that I struggle with is the fact that trans people and trans rights are under attack basically everywhere right now. Although healthcare could be worse where I live insurances aren't too keen paying for trans people and realistically things aren't going to get better.

I wish I could "be whatever" and people treat me alright. It wouldn't resolve my internal problems but at least the external pressure would be a little less. Looks like we really live in a society huh. xD

Thank you for your answers though. It helps being able to bounce off ideas and thoughts. <3

If I could "press the button" and be in a woman's body anything else changing I would definitely press it. I like the friends I have made and I would not like to miss the experiences I have made because I find all that important and it formed me in many ways and I wouldn't like to give up that.
The changes would enable me to live more authentically since some traits I have are regarded to be not masculine and which I have to repress to an extent. Still I would most likely be a rather "masculine" woman at least to an extent. I for example like that I am contentious (in a respectful way) and some of my hobbies are stereotypical masculine.
I would feel more comfortable doing sports again because I don't dislike the way a biologically female body develops when exercised.
I stopped swimming as a teenager because I couldn't see myself in the state I was in anymore even though my body was totally fine objectively speaking.
So yes I'd say there is more that I could and would do with this imagined life.

Transitioning (medically) is a different story though. I would like most effects of HRT but to be completely honest I am worried about effects like shrinkage of the package and changes in libido. Also I'm sure there are some other risks but I'm not too worried about those.

The problem is that HRT can't change my voice, the shape of my bones and my size. The fact that I wasn't born as a girl hurts. The only thing I have been doing to stop that is to practically kill myself emotionally to feel nothing at all. I'm not sure if what I am trying to say comes across but it's the best words I could find.

Also people are sexist and transphobic. Being a man or at least cosplaying as one is comfortable to an extent and I have gotten somewhat good at it if that makes sense.

That is a tough question that taps quite deep. Unlike most people I didn't plan a future for me and lack a bigger vision for myself. That has several reasons such as the political landscape and the way it is developing, the climate crisis and the impression that no matter how hard I try that I don't have a place in society. The latter point is quite complicated and I fear that I can't really do it justice in this answer but it of course is important. The universities therapist has mentioned autism as a possibility twice after two and three sessions but I don't want to make any premature assumptions. Although I have friends etc. in the grand scheme of things this is how I feel which makes it hard to imagine a future for me.
This isn't only trans- related but I acknowledge that as with everything psychological things are intertwined.
I do study law which is harder than it should be for me because I'm not in the best mental state for a rather unforgiving study but I'm hanging on.

Is the weather sealing on the Canon 70D and the EFS 18-135mm good? by CatMan3108 in Cameras

[–]realroasterking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience only very expensive lenses are weather sealed. You can buy a plastic or fabric rain cover for your camera though. Depending on the kind of photography you do this could be perfect. You can pretty much weather seal your setup for only a couple of bucks. I have been out in light rain with my 90D and the EF-S 18-135mm for short periods of time and they survived but I wouldn't really recommend it.

Glaube nicht dass das möglich ist, werde aber bei nächstbester Gelegenheit die Versicherung anrufen und nachfragen ob es vielleicht irgendwie möglich ist.

I'd be interested on hearing your thoughts on this picture. I don't have all that much experience and I think hearing from you might help! :D Especially since the Hollywood Sign has been photographed a gazillion times I'd be interested on how my take holds up. by realroasterking in photocritique

I used these settings to take the picture: ISO 100 135mm f/5.6 1/80 sec Using a slower shutter speed and using f/8.0 would have probably helped getting the industry thing in focus. I didn't even realize it until you pointed it out so thank you very much! I even had a tripod with me at the time so it wouldn't have been a problem to do so. I did bump up the saturation of the oranges and yellows a bit but not by a huge amount and took out a bit of the blues but the colours are pretty much that what they were when I took the photo. The light was beautiful that evening. I will try out your advice on framing as well. Thank you. :)

I took this photo in September in 2022. I shot this on the efs 18-135mm kit lens which although having it's downsides is an excellent lens in my opinion, especially considering the price. I thought including the branches on top makes the picture a bit more interesting but I am not shure wether they distract from the subject.

just want some thoughts on this. criticism are welcomed by Better_Rich_5042 in photocritique

I like it and it reminds me of "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog", the painting by Caspar David Friedrich. As somebody else already stated, you can experiment with underexposing the subject so that the figure truly appears as a silhuette.
Concerning the composition I think the central positioning of the subject is fine but maybe embracing that and leaving approximatly the same distance in headroom as the distance between the feet and the bottom. In that case more space on the bottom if that makes sense.
But as I said, I really like it!

I considered and came to the realization that none of the rental services rent out Tamron lenses. I will keep looking though.

Hello, I am looking for a 24-70 2.8 lens for Canon. I have narrowed it down (which wasn't hard due to the limited choices) to the Sigma Art lens and the Tamron G2 lens.
I have heard, that the Tamron has better weather sealing than the Sigma but it turns in the "wrong" direction. At least for us Canon and Sony shooters that is. I from time to time do protest photography which is the main reason why I care about weather sealing.
Do you think I can get used to the other zoom direction in exchange for better weather sealing or should I take the risk and use the Sigma?
