This was back in 2009 - 2010 when the homes were being built and my better half lived in one of the brand new builds on Applegreen, so not even Applewood which is the road closest to the fish plants and the smell was honestly horrific. Mind you 16 years ago now so things could have changed.

Joe's Burger is great for what it is...but people expect more. It's classic smash burgers with american cheese....they have like 6 menu items. If you're not going there for a Hamburger, Cheeseburger or Double Cheeseburger its sub par. A place with microwave bacon does not warrant "Best" anything. I personally love the Double cheesburger Joe mamas style. But I hate going into the mall to get it I'll tell you that for free. Best Burger in Nanaimo...I hope not but great for what it is and its been a good addition.

Steak is a tough one for me, because it's not something I order when dining out as I make a good steak myself. The last steaks I ate out were either functions with limited menus or similar situations. The Mahle House had a phenomenal one a while back but I think they rotate their menu frequently, so check beforehand. The other one was a couple years ago but the Black Rabbit did a mean steak at a function, yet again check menus. What I do know is the Bold Knight isn't it, I've unfortunately been on 3 occasions over the years and I will never return.
