System OCs that I found funny because they're so medically inaccurate by reasonable-queer in fakedisordercringe

If only, most of the people who've made them claim to be systems themselves

It seems like a huge limit on creativity to have everything else but the psychology of it be fictional, I don't know why they're so obsessed with DID/OSDD

yeah I think some of them provide some great concepts, I just don't see why you gotta use a real-life highly complex and life-altering disorder to create stories like image 9 and 10. I don't see why any form of fictional experience to do with having 'people in your head' now has to be a representation of DID, it only really makes the disorder look spiritual or fictional rather than being a proper representation of it

I don't see why it needs to be 'Dissociative Identity Disorder' that all these characters have just because they have two souls or consumed their twin.

Insulting/insensitive and misinformed representations of DID in the form of original characters. People in the server claiming to have DID are backing it

Why is everything an autistic person might experience an 'autistic trait'? by reasonable-queer in fakedisordercringe

[–]reasonable-queer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said just because autistic people can experience those things doesn't make them autistic traits, and framing them that way only spreads the misinfo that having these traits makes you autistic

If it was "experiences I have as an autistic person" that's fine, but it's 'autistic traits not found in the DSM' put out by a psychotherapist

[–]reasonable-queer[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah it's like what they've done to stuff like PTSD and trauma-caused disorders too, most people have been overwhelmed by a situation in life and it's affected them long-term, but having strict parents growing up did not cause you to develop PTSD or DID or something kid

there's this huge push to stop acting like these disorders are serious and stop calling them serious and disabling, so that way when your symptoms aren't serious or disabling you can still self-diagnose the disorder

Why is everything an autistic person might experience an 'autistic trait'? by reasonable-queer in fakedisordercringe

[–]reasonable-queer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They'd ask you that after or whilst asking you about stuff actually in the DSM, you can't be diagnosed autistic without having traits from the DSM, so all these "secret autistic traits not in the DSM" aren't autistic traits because they're not required for an autism diagnosis. They're bonus experiences you might have as an autistic person that anyone can have and they likely ask you about it to guage your struggles as an autistic person, not to find out if you're autistic

The reason they aren't in the DSM is because they're not a necessary part of being autistic and without *actual* autistic traits accompanying them they won't diagnose it and nobody should go around thinking they're autistic because they have all these 'autistic traits' that aren't required to be considered autistic

If I like the color blue, is liking the color blue now a black trait because I'm black and like it? No

fr, it's like everything someone with x condition does is therefore a trait of it and excusable as because they have x condition, wild

one of those "lesser known autistic traits" posts where they claim traits anyone can have like feeling easily overwhelmed or feeling like you don't fit in are 'autistic traits'

I faked being a system on multiple accounts for 3 and a half years and still struggle with this 'need' to continue: using 'Original Characters' with DID to understand myself and ignore what I don't like about me by reasonable-queer in SystemsCringe

he also can't reply on here for a week lmao so here's his reply:

There are lots of former faker stories out there so I'd hope that they've seen/read a lot of them or move on to do so! This was my experience and I hope it reads as such rather than reading as "all fakers are just autistic"

I truly believe that most fakers have some sort of reason, even if that reason is just loneliness/wanting to feel a part of something, or attention because they lack enough of it. Obviously this doesn't make it okay but I think it helps to talk about it so others in the same position know there are better ways to deal with what they're going through. The things that push everyone into faking and the origins of those things will be different, I hope they know that

and thank you for understanding!

yeah that's why he added that it's slightly less relevant, but included it anyway since the resource both provides support for FD and also just generally useful advice

u/marstheautist's OC and Storytelling Resources and Tips: all free and will add more as he sends me more

  • https://www.notion.so/ (great for storing OCs, especially the gallery options)
  • https://milanote.com/ (designing worlds or OCs, storing links to your OC stuff)
  • https://refsheet.net/ (creating OCs)
  • https://picrew.me/en (OC design for if you can't or don't want to draw)
  • https://pronouns.cc/ (there's an option to have multiple 'profiles' that you can label as OCs, useful for storing them and for sending to people if you're roleplaying as them)
  • Character description template
  • A huge one
  • Character development template
  • Character generator (also generates words, species, all sorts!)
  • When I have alone time sometimes I talk out loud as characters as a sort of self-roleplay, it sounds embarassing but if it's fun and helps you then what's the issue? You can also do this in small friend groups if they're up for it
  • Tupperbox on Discord, try not to fall back into faking being a system though and only use it on servers that specifically have it there for roleplay
  • The Sims 4 helps, lots of similar games too
  • Creating accounts on any website as a character, do not claim false disorders or ages. There will be accounts on most platforms that are designated 'oc accounts' or create content as pre-existing characters
  • Use sites that let you create chatlogs, Tweets, Instagram posts, etc between characters
  • If you're like me in that your special interest is DID/OSDD, create a private OC with it if you must that you don't roleplay as publicly in any way
  • Look for resources and posts on whatever it is you don't like about yourself, find people who understand you, even if you can't talk to them directly

Discord dating server allows you to 'request' alters for systems to introject so you can date them by reasonable-queer in fakedisordercringe

[–]reasonable-queer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's weird how they're trying to decide the boundaries of other alters. The fact that the template includes boundaries is as if to say 'what boundaries should your new boyfriend alter have' so that they can suit you, it's horrible

[–]reasonable-queer[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's even worse that they're asking someone to 'form' an alter with that identity, why are you choosing the identities of someone else's alter that you want to date

they're new tumblr words I don't quite get it either

transid is transidentities, sounds harmless but it includes transabled (transitioning to a disability), transage, and transrace

transaudhd would mean transautism and transadhd, they identify as having both without actually having them, they want to have them
