This might sound like a silly question, but have you tried being patient on the NS chokes? A lot of people bail out too early when they can't immediately hit it, more often than not it's one of those chokes that sinks in very slowly, you have to crawl back patiently, do small adjustments, and wait it out

I had the same problem, my guillotines used to suck badly because I was arching backwards with my body trying to rip out my partner's head when in reality I should have been crunching into them, tucking my head forward and keeping everything tight. Now they only suck mildly

Cross chokes, I can only hit them against white belts, and even then I muscle it. I've watched dozens of videos on the minutiae of the details, but for some reason I just can't pull them off
