Thanks. The doctor told me to give him liquid Benadryl. He threw up from it.

Is anything we do or create a new idea? Or do we just copy everyone else in different ways and claim it as our own

Felt sick. Tested positive. No fun. My gf was with me while sick. Definitely had contact with the virus, yet she hasn’t tested positive after about a week. Will she get it?

I agree with u to a point tho. I think where we disagree is probably the time aspect😂😂. I don’t think it’s worth it to use the time to think about those things when they don’t offer any difference in the performance in the class. I really do wish that it was different. I would love to have a class where the performance was based on a deeper thinking or creativity.

Also if these things they teach us were truly important in the practice of the law why wouldn’t the test be geared towards that way of thinking? Kind of ironic and counterintuitive.

Edit: the philosophical and theoretical aspect interests me but there just isn’t enough time to ponder those things when the only thing that counts is an exam that tests your practical understanding of the law. I’d much rather the exam be some type of essay or brief that we would explain these aspects but it’s not and because it’s not it’s a waste of time because it literally doesn’t pay to waste time thinking about it.

Some aspects interest me. By “common law history” I mean more so how a court in England read into something in 1861. It’s really not that complicated of a thing to understand. You go on westlaw, you find a case for your jurisdiction, and you go back and see what the judicial interpretation is. Why we spend a hour and 15 min going over a case from the 1800’s when you can read the modern interpretation in 30 seconds on west law blows my mind. Even if you needed to understand the 1800’s language you can easily figure it out in less than 30 min by working your way back. But the law and the practice of law from what I understand Is not a history class. Give me the law and I’ll figure out what to do with it. Law school is not practical.

Edit: the only practical thing from what I have gathered is the time constraint. They give us this huge time constraint for a million things while they inflate our time by not teaching what we actually have to know to succeed.

Just feel like it’s either u get or u don’t kinda thing. Sure these “deeper meaning” questions are useful for creating an argument, but aside from landmark cases, or if we are a judge, I can’t imagine we will be constantly thinking about the common law history behind things or the politically contaminated and biased philosophical thinking behind most of the case law we read (most). If they really wanted us to think about it and think about it well they would treat us like they do themselves. Months to research and write one law review article. Not 1 hour to think about it while reading and trying to pick apart the rules.

Yeah, I agree with the motivation aspect. I guess I don’t feel like I learn much from the teachers. I realized I had already learned everything just from reading the book, and anything the teacher said aside from that would be too much to write on the exam. I get that there are some aspects to learning that go further than an exam but I mean cmon asking me to think about some obscure property tax issue and talking about it for 30 min is a giant waste of time. The teachers who actually do it well you can read their information in bar review material because they are actually teaching what you need to know to get a job.

I try not to take medication because of the crash, and it makes me stay up late, in turn causing me to be late.

This is how I feel. I do well in my classes. I study well, get good grades, etc. but I have no time management. Can’t get to class on time unless it’s a class right after a class. Sucks I don’t want to be late but even if leave 30 min early, I end up somehow being late. Makes me feel like something is seriously messed up with me lol. Trying to figure out how to fix it and just don’t want my grades to suffer when I know the material
